I used to work at at thrift store and really most of the shit we got were random film scores from the 50's-60's and greatest hits compilations. I did see a box full of east coast hardcore and punk cd's before that was rad, and thats about it.

The best stuff I found at my thrift store is a scratched up CD of Resistance by Muse and a Miles Davis greatest hits.

Yeah, at those places it's nothing but trash that people just can't toss out. Sometimes you can find a good deal on appliances, but that's about it. I remember my boss saying we were "glorified trashmen" and that's pretty fucking true. I never really saw any albums/records of anything I moderately liked.

I used to work at a SA thrift store and can confirm this was common. I love out in some suburbs somewhere and i don’t think there are a lot of Mexicanos out there but a lot of Spanish shit was being donated. Hell maybe it was the family of my one Mexican neighbor across the way. Also a lot of really shitty late 90s early 2000s rock that was basically one step above shitty mix tape.

Tori Amos

Oh and I worked at a thrift store in richmond, in the fan (a popular college and hipster area) and you'd think we'd get great shit..Nope.

I found Sonic Youth - Sister once

Shouldn't it be with or to and not by?

Shit I was the boss at a thrift store and I would say this to people too

>They bought it for one song
No wonder it's donated

Ugh, and the people I met were sometimes cool and just normal people, but you'd get these vets and weirdos that wanted to talk your head off. . I did have a weird situation though when some old dude donated a bunch of shit, and when I was getting one box into the truck the bottom dropped out..and it was full of "barely legal" porn. Yeah. That skeeved me out.

Based Brandon, should've taken it off his hands

Not Goodwill but I looked through the music at Half Price Books once and couldn't believe how many Enya CDs there were.

There's plenty of good shit at Half Price Books if you go at the right time.

We weren't allowed to take shit like that, I didn't want it either. The guy even tried to argue with me about it too.

FUck that was a weird and interesting job.
>enya
I've always found that weird too, I'm not one who goes to thrift stores a lot, but I've for sure seen stacks on enya records before.

You know what a lot of people donate to thrift stores that just piss the people off there? Christmas stuff, you won't believe the amount of Christmas shit I had to pick up that went directly into the compactor.

I got the Sugarcubes' first album there and also found a CD by a Ukrainian band called 5'nizza. Didn't pick that second one up though and when I went back a few days later it was gone.

Half Price books is solid for CDs
