To be fair, I don't necessarily dislike Fantano himself. He's allowed to like what he wants and it doesn't affect me. What's absolute bullshit is the legions idiots on Yea Forums can't seem to disassociate their own thoughts from whatever Fantano says, whether they agree with him or not. It's all so tiring.

I just don't think his reviews are very...good.

Fantano tends to use really over-wrought, sort of forced descriptions of albums or just rely on cliches. He just kind of buries whatever he's talking about in descriptive adjectives. He'll describe a raucous drum solo like this; "It was a cacophonous-loud drum solo, like a drunk driver driving into a store front window of a china shop filled with expensive china, all breaking at the same time loudly". I also don't like the phony youtuber announcer guy voice he speaks in. Or his skits. Or how he "meme-ify's" whatever topic he's talking about in a corny way. In general I just don't like the entire character that he's created for himself.

Another thing I dislike about him is how he'll comment on an artists video on youtube knowing full well that his fanbase will vote it to the top comment, clearly attempting to link his own work to theirs in the audiences head. He'll congratulate a person like Ariel Pink for example, for putting out a great new single and sort of attempt to imply as though he somehow is directly involved in boosting these peoples careers. It makes it seem like he honestly feels like the musicians he reviews wouldn't have as big of a career without him. Which strikes me as kind of lame.
