elaborate

>he's the entry-level tourist magnet of hip-hop
I completely agree

OMG HE DOES

Both are complete hacks so I guess you're right

t. only listened to electric miles

>Revolutionized their respected genre multiple times
>Take major influence from other genres, change of musical style a lot
>Fashion
>Shit on their own, but are great leaders who can get amazing people working with him

>Revolutionized their respected genre multiple times
how did kanye did that
>Take major influence from other genres
only when miles sold out he took influence from rock, before that he really only cares about jazz
>change of musical style a lot
how's that true for kanye
>Fashion
oh please
miles wore italian high cut suits
kanye wears oversize clothes put together by chinese children
>Shit on their own, but are great leaders who can get amazing people working with him
miles was a great band leader who worked with top jazz instrumentalists
kanye buys his music

I listened to that miles davis rap album the other day and if it didn't have that autistic faggot rapping over it it would have been a really great album

If you don’t see how Kanye revolutionized the genre at multiple points then it’s clear you don’t listen to hip hop or know its history so why would you try to interject your opinion in this?

me not knowing how kanye 'changed the game' is exactly why I'm asking
also, op clearly knows nothing about miles or jazz, and still there he is, having 'opinions'
face it, your kind only compares hip hop to jazz to validate your commercial bubblegum of a genre
there's little in common between them

Blueprint production for Jay Z: Sampled older soul singers for hooks or sped up the signing to create the “chipmunk vocals” that would be ingrained in the beat. And those would basically be a huge trend over the next decade.

College Dropout: Brought honest and emotionally transparent rap to the mainstream. No one in the bling era (50 Cent, Nelly, and all those ringtone song rappers) was rapping about middle class dissatisfaction, relationships with their grandparents and cousins, and spirituality.

808s and Heartbreak: Essentially spawned a decade of autotuned rapping-singing hybrid combined with getting your feels. Drake is the primary example to take note.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy: Has an argument as the best album of the decade and raised the bar for hip hop production. Surprisingly maybe not as influential as Kanye’s other works despite being his best but that’s only because the grand production and vision it took to assemble can’t be easily copied. I think collaborations with artists you wouldn’t typically think of the type to work with rap artists (Bon Iver, Elton John for instance) increased in hip hop afterwards because of the great reception MBDTF got that attracted people who weren’t previously into hip hop.

Since then Kanye has gone in a more experimental direction with each album and it really remains to be seen what kind of impact they end up having. I think his recent album Kids See Ghosts will have unexpected waves in time but we’ll see.

I'll stop being a dick because you seem to actually put effort into your posts and that's really cool
but you're thinking too much about the mainstream
kanye would never put out a product so different that his publishers wouldn't like it
also lyrical themes are not relevant... if anything it shows how basic his music is that he needs words to show people what he wants to say
but again, this discussion is useless if you only look at the mainstream, which miles only started caring about when he sold out in the late 60s

what is 808s and heartbreaks
what is yeezus
what is the life of pablo
what is even to some extent college dropout

You are admittedly ill informed yet you are still arguing from a position of authority. None of your posts have any credibility

>how basic his music is that he needs words to show people what he wants to say

Okay I’ll give you the chance to show me a piece of music without lyrics that “says” what Kanye does about fantasizing about escaping the middle class lifestyle. Go.

t. Zoomer only listens to Travis Scott and thinks that 808s was unoriginal

wow sooooo different and groundbreaking. proper unbelievable stuff

Only nu-males and betas like him.

Bait

>lyrical themes are not relevant... if anything it shows how basic his music is that he needs words to show people what he wants to say
