Camping in Alaska. They're kind of a jokey band that made self referential jokes about the emo-revival. Had members from Midwest Pen Pals and Merchant Ships. Really good band though.

Wouldn't say it sounds like Camping in Alaska but it definitely has gruff vocals while still remaining easy on the ears. Not the twinkliest but very catchy emo/post-hardcore album.

Since I think you're OP. You can start with Algernon Cadawaller, Cap n' Jazz, Glocca Morra, Owls, American Football. There was a ton of bands like this in the early 10's. There are still tons of releases coming out but they're pretty boring desu.

reminisce my friend, for many of us humans it's all we have. there's this older man i know, about 70. He comes into the store i work at every day, good friend of the owners. anyway this man had played in a band now known by very few, they were really popular in south i-10 lousiana. played with some big bands in his heyday. he talks a lot about his old band and i see a little twinkle in his eye when he mentions it. I never had anything like that, i can only hear your pain and not expand on it. either way i feel for you guys. camaraderie is essential to our spirit. like minded men and women have gotten us to this point in history and now all it takes is 4 or 5 to leave their little mark in history

they are all mixtapes, either way they are all kino. they are songs from different bands, check the descriptions of the videos for any that catch your ear laddy
