Defeatedcore

Music for when you're defeated and you know you fucked up. The most melodramatic emotion there is. Usually a collection of bad circumstances happening to a person at the same time breaking him down psychologically. Melloncollic/sad music with an ironic or nihilistic sound. Or just really sad.
Whether its love, death, or a bunch of bad luck. Defeatedcore is there for you.

Give recs guys.

I'd say it beats Jar Of Flies if we're talking about the "defeated" tone. Bitter to the core.

This one's more subtle, but once you notice the melancholy, it stays there. And the most soul-crushing song sounds like bossa nova.

>Saucerful of Secrets
The album has a sad feel to it even if you don't know the history behind it with Syd Barrett being fired from his own band. "Jugband Blues" is one of the most haunting songs in existence as a result; a bitter and sarcastic attack against his fellow bandmates and everyone else calling him "crazy."
>The Madcap Laughs
Same reasons as above, but this is Syd's first solo album. Tracks produced by Roger Waters were edited to include embarrassing studio outtakes, and many speculate he did this intentionally to give evidence that Syd was losing his mind and deserved what the band did to him.
>Plastic Ono Band
The John Lennon album, great shit but really heavy, sad, and angry.
>New Traditionalists
pic related. DEVO was regarded as a "silly" band since they existed, but ever since "Whip It" they started to hate their newfound fame and criticism. This album was a direct reaction to their past fans wanting them to be more punk and the general public wanting more songs like "Whip It," so it's a synth-heavy work mostly dealing with angry/depressing lyrics.
>Closer
Second and last Joy Division album, written mostly by a guy who would kill himself in a few months.
