Why do you care?

Why not both

How stupid can you be?

What was the question?

I dont give a fuck about anything there but that strymon, id swap it for an eventide space tho.

Is that a Russian tortoise

it looks like a hermann’s tortoise to me

Yeah, you're right

nice bait got me to reply.

LLS #Facts

>Imagine dumping money into a hobby, lmao

Based retard

Sup Joe?

If you cant cleanly play an acoustic guitar you suck and that's a fact

>imagine having money
>imagine having
>imagine

poorfags are the worst

Poorfags are all the same

They can't fathom buying something because you want it. To them, you have to have a reason. Because a $100 effects pedal costs a fortune to them, so if they bought it, they'd have to have a reason themselves.
>Y-you wasted your money, you only need a squier strat, no, a squier telecaster!
>Y-you wasted your money you don't need pedals
>S-somehow this stuff is mutually exclusive with skills (please ignore all the famous people with expensive guitars and expansive pedalboards)
>T-the real guitar chads shred on $50 acoustics, like what i have ;_;

Classic projection really.

tldr: imagine being able to afford to do both, you fucking peasant

that's more a matter of fretting hand strength than anything

if you learned to play an acoustic you might fret stuff out of tune, do accidental bends, and strum/pick too hard on an electric, and then you'd really suck

When you try to act like an expert about things you are ignorant about, it makes you look like a jackass.

I'm surprised that people actually responded to my weak bait
And yes, I own and love pedals

Muh vacuum cleaner sounds

Then buy .12s you fucking coward
Bitch

I've got to buy just two or three more pieces of gear, then I'll start in earnest.

Poorfags.
The sad truth is that you won't become a rockstar anyway. No matter how good you are with a guitar.
Just have fun and don't be a salty douche.

thread

Most people are can afford pedals can't play very well. This is because most people can't play very well. I am poor and so what I want right now is just a good distortion pedal so I can stop using my amps shitty gain channel and use the actually decent clean + pedal. I understand that pedals will improve my sound.

But I also understand that even with my $125 guitar and $300 amp, I'm almost always the guitarist who sounds best on stage at shows. The kids with the pedal boards and strats are usually one trick ponies, and usually don't know much about technique or theory.

A pedal has value, but it is genuinely never going to surpass the value of being a better musician. That's why poorfags value talent, even if most of them are just lo-fi trash.

Why hasn't the thread died yet?
I already said this was started as a dumb joke and I never not use pedals

Talent and disposable income are not mutually exclusive. Stop being a bitter poorfag mad that complete beginners can afford gibsons and earthquaker pedals.
>WELL YOU HAVE NO TALENT
>and?
>GEAR WON'T MAKE YOU PLAY BETTER
>i know, i just thought it would be cool
>I WANT YOUR STUFF ;_;

I never said they were mutually exclusive. I wish I had money, though even with infinite money I'd only need a couple pedals because I'm not playing shoegaze or really see a need. All I want is better tone. Good guitar, good pickups, good amp, couple good pedals.

What is mutually exclusive is most people and talent, regardless of income. It's just fun knowing that people with no talent waste their money on gear when they'll never be able to actually do much with it.

impressive display of COPE my poor friend

They're having fun with it

Neither you nor they will ever "make it", sorry

>I'd only need a couple pedals
Haha. It always starts just with a couple of pedals.
I was confused when beginners were buying over $1000 instruments back when I was playing $200 bass and couldn't afford spending any money on music myself.
When I started earning more, my views on money changed a bit. I love music, I love gear, I love good tones, but in reality I'm just buying myself a bit of happiness with all that.
It's hard to understand if you got no disposable income. Wasting money seems like a stupid and destructive idea. But once you got more money than you need, you're just starting to look for a ways to make yourself happier with their help.

what's a better motivator

>making a shitty instrument sound good
>stop making a good instrument sound shitty

both have been proven to work, but what's the best? asking before i choose between an ESP custom shop gutiar and a squier bullet tele.
