I think they look messy, but now and then I kind of want one. Would definitely not actually get a dad guitar like a fender or gibson today, though
Cooper Wood
Why
Joshua Ward
Gibsons are ugly as sin, wouldn't play that shit even if i got it for free.
Brody Harris
because if you want a fender you should get a high quality logo-less partscaster that will blow away any standard fender at a lower price, and if you really want a gibson there are surely better alternatives for any of their guitars too
There’s so many of them already around you don’t need to pay full retail.
Christopher Cook
where is the age cutoff for a standard MIA strat, where its worth as much, or more than a brand new one?
Ian Wilson
Its irrelevant, depends on the model and condition.
Kevin Murphy
the model is a standard MIA strat, and the condition is average. like belt buckle wear but no neck socket cracks.
Evan Murphy
Should be like $800 or so
Justin Perry
c'mon son a shitplank's a shitplank
Luke Wilson
What year?
Dominic Wood
There is no guitar, Im just wondering at what age a used standard strat has the same market price a new one. How old before they are cool?
Benjamin Sanchez
A Strat is a Strat man. American Standards are mass produced and not collectible. If you want a Strat that is more 'cool' than you're looking at 50s and 60s vintage models.
Christopher Reed
alright, so a 70s strat is not more valuble than a 2019 professional or whatever the standard is called now
Ryder Cook
Correct, 70s Strats are some of the worst ones money can buy. Just like Gibsons from that era that were also dog shit, even worse than any of the newer ones
Andrew Howard
what if its a good one
Aiden Ross
Do what you want, I wouldn't buy it
Ethan Carter
why not if its a good one
Joseph Moore
Because I don't consider any 70s a 'good one'. They're ugly and have undesirable changes from the 50s/60s
Jacob Stewart
Can you guys recommend me an Ibanez or Jackson guitar (white) with a double humbucker setup? I am looking for one about 650 dollar, I would listen to every suggestion or idea.
Noah Bell
considering a prewired HSS pickguard from lindy fralin, but they dont have that guard in mint.
Caleb Sullivan
If you want a Strat or a Tele, buy all the parts off Guitar Fetish and mount it yourself
Camden Price
Imagine basing your whole life around what others think ROFLMAO
Ryder King
MIJ Soloist or Dinky for Jackson, Ibanez RG Prestige. I've seen white RG 550s for around that price but most of them are $800+. Don't bother with chink shit
>Still didn't last more than a week. Lol seriously Uncoated strings last weeks with me Have you tried showering every day?
Henry Bennett

Jacob White
You must not play much
Kayden Miller
No u
Easton Rogers
Try the NYXLs, they're the only ones I found that last about as long as most Elixirs do
Chase Morgan
how long has this general been on Yea Forums and yall still don't have a recommended guitar list?
Kayden Price
Majmun Meymun мaймyнa Khỉ Nyani
Nicholas Roberts
Hahahahha
Grayson Smith
Guitars are a preference thing so really recommendations can't be set in stone. Lots of poorfag cope in here as well so its hard to make a confined list.
Jackson Barnes
/gg/ recommended guitars list: - Gibson Les Paul™ Traditional (Heritage Cherry Sunburst)
Caleb James
I did, still killed them faster than I wanted. High acidity in sweat=dead strings and gross hardware. Back to Elixir when this set is completely DOA. Daddario's always have a good tension balance though, no exception here. Just wish more companies did a dip coat like elixir.
Logan Murphy
Strings used to last me a lot longer when I was a beginner at guitar and didn't really play the whole neck. I only started using Elixir's after a few years of playing since I move around the whole neck more and actually wear the strings in all areas
should I sell my acoustic, /gg/? ever since I got an electric I don't play it at all, maybe for 15 minutes combined a week. My only argument against selling it is that I wouldn't be getting much (it's a cheap one for beginners), but at this point I'd prefer to have a second electric for alternate tunings or some other experiments.
Handmade like your chink rebranded pickups amirite?
Cameron Gutierrez
Learn the pentatonic scales. It’s more useful than straight arpeggios if you want to remember scale shapes quickly. But learn in as intervals so you can play any full scale without thinking about it
I thought a LP custom with decent electronics for that price was pretty good. It's a guitar from '91. Frets are in great condition, just a few picking scratches.
Kevin Watson
Seventies models are not well-regarded and can usually be found for the same price as a new standard (or whatever they're calling the $1400 models these days). Sixties strats are immediately worth many times this, regardless of actual quality.
Ryan Cooper
>pic
Chicks need to play that guitar.
Ethan Mitchell
Is it better than the snapper?
Dominic Flores
It is a snapper, just has an HSH config
Grayson Ortiz
What should I stamp on my Slippers /gg/? I'm buying a pair of custom stamped slippers because I liked the Merchant mouse pad.
... Who you think of when sticking a dildo up your ass?
>he can't go to college because he spent all his money on feminization surgery
Carter Russell
Holy fuck that guitar is ugly. Well, to be fair, if you've already had that surgery there's no point in paying money to attend a communist subversion center: you've clearly already been subverted.
Christopher Gonzalez
Guess what, Tupperware is a company rooted in the first world that gets our money by selling us toxins-releasing containers
Put some Malagoli pickups. They have models handmade to true vintage PAF specs. Worth unmatched bobbins everything. They're the best.
Samuel Bailey
>With unmatched bobbins and everything.
Christopher Anderson
I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to, but it mostly likely simply comes down to a more aesthetically pleasing frequency response. Frequency response is the primary determinant of tone, and it's incredibly easy and inexpensive to shape. This is why expensive, boutique amps are full fucking retard.
John Evans
I asked my baby for a nickel And she gave me a twenty dollar bill
Can I make a Vox sound like a large Marshall by profiling the frequency response And does that also apply to microphones
Grayson Cox
>Frequency response is the primary determinant of tone But, as you said, not the only one
Jaxon Gomez
>Can I make a Vox sound like a large Marshall by profiling the frequency response You can make it sound similar. The overdrive, of course, will have different clipping characteristics. >And does that also apply to microphones Obviously, yes.
Ryan Reyes
get a jackson professional made in japan but aim to get an ash one these sound so sweet although.
Parker Brown
>you paid $35 for a pick
LMAO
Levi Howard
this PRS sound way too bright.
Nathaniel Martin
i want a gibson but not the one you want to sell me, i want a the paul 1978 all walnut with T Top pups.
Dominic Williams
I actually have a ukulele.
Camden Lewis
I just started learning scales using the CAGED positions. Everything is good until I get to Harmonic minor and Melodic minor. Some strings have two notes and others have 4. Is this right?
Lucas Thomas
Why is this sperg the only person on this board the only one that even dares posting his playing on this shit board? Can't one fucking person just post 20 seconds of their playing?
Angel Martin
Stick to 3 note per string shapes. You don't get that problem but there's bigger stretches
>Obviously, yes. Haha not. Your obviously generalizing things and trying to make it sound like EQ fixes everything. Maybe to cope with your expensive eq pedal? Just watch that behringer vs neumann condenser comparison on drums it's on YouTube
Hudson Nguyen
Lmao dumbass
Jaxon Hughes
Best les paul: Independent luthiers > Heritage > PRS > Gibson Best strats and teles: Suhr > G&L > "Fender" Best superstrats: Jackson USA > ESP Japan > Ibeenhad Best misshapen gibson double cut: Gibson
But if you aren't a musician and have no interest in playing yer damn guitar
Best brands for posing with while you rant about heritage and originality: 1. Gibson 2. Fender
Bonus list, words brands
Worst les paul: Dean Worst flying V: Dean Worst strats and teles: Dean Worst superstrats: Dean Worst misshapen gibson double cut: Dean
EQ can't add frequencies, only cut and boost them. And your EQ probably isn't an ultra wide range, ultra precise parametric wonder box that can do things like make an EMG sound like a classical guitar.
Follow me on Instagram and YouTube and I will give you the redpill
Brayden Richardson
>C#7b5, C#9 Why? That's ugly and sure doesn't resolve back into F If some unfortunate fuck had to play over that he'd be changing scales for every chord. Which isn't unusual, it's just the second half just sounds terrible with the first
James Harris
It's not aesthetically pleasing to me in anyway. If you feel differently, then please, by all means...
Robert Sullivan
Link?
Jack Perry
It's a deformed les paul
Dylan Carter
so I'm looking at used flying V's and keeping coming across these atrocities. WTF? Then I'm like, is it really any more ridiculous than a standard V? then I answer myself in the affirmative.
Get a dean thoroughbred deluxe or select instead 3 piece body 3 piece cap and thick veneer. Epiphones is known to use the scrap bin for "maple" caps. They use any wood on hand for the caps. 5 piece mismatched alder and maple caps are more the norm than the exception with epiphone
Gabriel Williams
4"
Tyler Howard
>ESP Eclipse why you consider buying a veneer flame top guitar over a real flame top one ?
Leo Gonzalez
both epiphone and gibson make frequent use of glue work to assemble their bodies, and not in a deliberate purposeful way like boutique guitar makers and their 3+ piece neck through meme machines
they do this because they are the same company and that company is ran by bastards. at one point they made them in sandwiched layers so it would be harder to tell, but these days you're at least going to get two pieces clearly visible from the back - this thins out the tone, especially if the bridge crosses the glue line.
Henry Evans
>imagine being so assmad you found out you have chink pickups that for some strange reason you upload pictures of your deformed mutilated dick on an algerian insect breeding forum
This is too funny. How much did you pay for the malagoli pickups? Lol
Noah Brown
It is also because epiphones are made in a chinese factory. They dont give a fuck as long as they hit quota
Ian Jackson
>Don't understand the theory just memorise shapes
That's jcope logic user
Alexander Garcia
Fortunately I got a Condor not an Epiphone
Condor > Epiphone
Why mutilated? 150 reais each
Christopher Anderson
>this thins out the tone, not even savants can tell if it is 1 pieces or 5.
Parker White
E-IIs and up have real maple caps LTDs and below have veneers
But it doesn't matter, it's all CNC machined, hand asssembled, and maybe hand sanded/painted no matter which brand you get. I bought and sold a les paul with a real maple cap that was so flat and lifeless you'd think it was fotoflame, and had a PRS SE semi-hollow starter guitar with a veneer that had a striking 3d effect. QC doesn't exist in factory made guitars anymore. This is why you should never buy a guitar sight unseen off the internet.
Adam Martin
I've a question: Why is there so much poorfag/richfag shilling happening in these threads? All this bullshit about fender and gibson being overpriced and what the fuck else. of course it's overpriced, its gibson and fender. you are paying for the brand just as much as the quality of the guitar. Some people just like owning something original and reputable and that is literally okay. I own all kinds of gear from every side of that spectrum and i can say that the most important thing is how it makes you feel.
Carter Perry
Because the only people who think instruments have a soul are NPCs.
Eli Russell
Obviously you need to know the notes you're playing. Besides, nobody uses caged in a professional setting. They are training wheels for guitar
Ethan Hill
>maple maple is cheap what is not cheap is the flame so these eclipses have a veneer flame top on top of a real maple (which is cheap) meanwhile gibbies have a real flame maple cap.
dont try to confuse newfags with your semantics
Lucas Wood
what are the cheapest MIA/MIJ guitars I can get new? any brand welcome
Asher Lee
also, are there any european made that are good?
Landon Parker
I bought my Condors used on mercadolivre and had no problems You're probably a retard that doesn't ask for pics when shopping
My Chinese les Paul has a nice flame top. I don't care if it's a veneer or a real slab of maple
It's real flame maple. I work in a guitar store and have replaced the pickups on two, because boomers and 90s kids all hate or end up hating EMGs but want to play ESPs because of metallica. Personally, I like them, EMGs included, and I've handled more E-II and ESP original eclipses than you have owned guitars and taken apart and checked the fretwork on nearly every one, so I set aside $2k and now I'm waiting for them to come out with a color I like.h
I understand it must be hard to believe that companies other than gibson can afford to use a $100 slab of wood to decorate a guitar and charge slightly less than gibson does, but asians at ESP's japanese factory work longer and harder for cheaper so that keeps the price down. The africans under gibson's employment demand more gibs and days off, which drives the price up.
Fenders are designed to be cheap.
What do you care? Everything you own ends up falling apart anyways.
E-IIs are a plain top with a veneer glued over it, so its not the same as a true flame carved top that Gibson/PRS uses. But other than that yes it is a real maple cap
Henry Watson
Buying used is for poorfags Don't be a gearcuck, get your shit new and pristine
Lucas Morales
Yeah I own this guitar since 2013 and it still didn't fall apart
It's cheaper. Just make sure you get pics and ask everything about their condition before buying. And buy on a website that protects the customer and allows you to return it. Follow me on Instagram and ask me stuff on Direct : samuel.cfaria
Jacob Rivera
Citations? I've seen pickup cavities and trem cavities, it's all flame maple, not plain maple with a veneer.
Googling for evidence for this lie just shows retarded forum kids being paranoid over the semantics of "flame top".
Nathan Brooks
>so I set aside $2k and now I'm waiting for them to come out with a color I like.h date tag it when you got it
but $2k would not get you a real flame top with that brand, these japanese are worse than jews.
Easton Sanders
Are you going to doxx people?
David Scott
why are you niggers autistic about flame maple when it all looks like shit and veneers don't sound any different
Blake Diaz
I bought my acoustic new simply because I couldn't find it used and I see no advantages
Noah Roberts
They are knockoffs. They're half of what the dimarzios cost and those are mass produced.
Not going to doxx anyone. You can all follow me on Instagram and YouTube and know I won't doxx you. Go ahead follow me! I will answer your shit on PM
Thomas Wilson
>so I set aside $2k and now I'm waiting for them to come out with a color I like
What's the point in spending that kind of dosh on lame factory models when you can get a luthier to build you a custom guitar?
Only a Custom Guitar is Good Enough.
Landon White
Its just peasants raising up a stink.
Dylan Cooper
buying new is great if you want to lose a fuck ton of money. only buy new if you are 100% positive you will never resell. even then, you could get a used one in identical condition for 25-50 percent less. really, buying new is for poorfags considering how bad with money you have to be to do so.
Michael Bell
Custom guitars are for those kids in high school who always had to be unique and stand out, only they never grew up.
Ian Peterson
They do sound different. A real maple top brightens the tone, makes it more balanced
solid mahogany is the only acceptable guitar body construction
Ayden Walker
I was in a melo death band. One practice they had another guitarist show up as my replacement in so many words.
I told him his newly purchased mode four wasn't a tube head.
Asher Jones
im literally just trying to help people not waste money. why are you so offended by that. im speaking from experience. every single time i bought anything over 2k new, i lost atleast 50% on resell, despite keeping it in perfect condition. i have put about 20k into gear, but my collection is only worth about 15k, and i have never neglected my shit.
Aiden Wood
Lol I've seen them in person, you're just going off internet rumors
Mason Gomez
Poorfa/gg/ syndrome brigade out in full coping force.
POORFA/GG/S OF /GG/ POST YOUR SHIT RIGS.
Caleb Edwards
Enjoy your sloppy seconds
Robert Smith
it's based because you can get a better instrument for the same price, and the resell value will be basically unchanged in case you decide you want to get rid of it later
Angel Reyes
No wtf

Dylan Gray
What?
Tyler Jones
Sometimes i jack off and nut in my hand and then play guitar. I then sell my guitars to some sucker who wants to buy used because he cant afford new. Sometimes i stick my finger deep in my butt and get some kaka out and smear it on the input jack
I've seen a few other ads around with the same thing, so all though its still a maple cap its not a real carved cap. It looks basically the same but it makes sense to keep costs down. If it used a real carved top it would obviously cost them more.
Jacob Gray
I do now! The last 4 guitars i bought were one owner used, in pristine condition, and i actually made money on two of them. feels great.
Luis Cook
Hows your throat though
Sebastian Hernandez
>Sometimes i stick my finger deep in my butt You do that more often than you touch the guitar
Noah Foster
There is absolutely no reason to spend more than 400$ on a guitar if you don't pay your bills playing music. Prove me wrong. Oh wait, you can't.
you dont need a reason. some people just collect and thats okay.
Andrew Nelson
The headstock looks like an uncircumcised penis, for fucks sake what were they thinking with that??
Thomas Davis
We dont care about your penis preference
Michael Cox
I just don’t want my guitar to have a cock on the end of the neck
Ayden Martin
should I get an EQ pedal as my first pedal? my amp takes care of most effects and I'm not that autistic about them
William Perry
>his only happiness is buying things >he's happier the more money he wastes Why don't you give me some money
William Hall
no you should not waste money and get a good amp and a good guitar and then pedals
Isaac Martin
Why do you even want a pedal then
Charles Parker
Nobody else sees a cock on the les Paul headstock. Maybe you shouldn't watch so much porn
Jason Lewis
Are twisted tele pickups much better than the pickups that come standard in the player series tele? I love the standard pickups but I really want a serious middle crunch tone
Jace Richardson
middle crunch tone and tele does not go together.
Jayden Collins
That's a Marshall Mode Four in the picture. They were expensive solid state heads that may as well have been Crates.
Lincoln Reed
I have a les paul and an RG550 but I really wanna try push my Tele because it's my favourite. What if i slapped a hot rails in the bridge and had a twisted tele neck?
Hunter Bell
Fender is better than gibson.
Nathan Gutierrez
This. Electric guitar tone is in the pick ups you fucking retards. Come back when you don't hide behind 4 effects pedals and can play acoustic guitar tightly.
Logan Lopez
You should kill yourself. Do you even know how to play country?
Jose Martinez
why would I care to play such a shit genre?
Sebastian Perez
Nothing of value was lost. Shit genre
Evan Peterson
buy a treble booster instead
Aiden Martinez
Uh damn
Sam can play acoustic
Brandon White
You could try. It really boils down to the pickups.
Connor Nelson
Its not a bad choice, depending on your amp and the sounds you're trying to craft. A tuner is a good choice too.
Noah Gray
NYXL sounds great but do not last long.
Aiden Ortiz
They last real long for me.
Joseph Anderson
Dunlop string cleaner
Juan Barnes
What strings does /gg/ use? I've been using ernie balls forever but I put elixers on anything with a floyd rose just to get a bit more time between string changes and I have to say, maybe its placebo but they feel a lot nicer to play.
Caleb Peterson
Ernie's, I tried others including nyxl's and I always go back.
Keep the treble knob in the same place either way because tonewoods are complete bullshit for electrics
Hudson Robinson
Elixir as well, I found it made a big difference to polish/clean the fretwire every few months as they can get dirty if you play a lot and the strings last a lot longer
Logan Edwards
Orville is just Japanese Gibson. Ya did alright man! That should be well made and sound great. Ignore these other dudes.
Christian Hill
My daddario strings are so sticky
Angel Hughes
Lads, it's Jazzmaster guy (formerly Flying V guy) here. Does anyone have a recommendation for finding a good instructor? Guitar Center has them, but from my experience as an orchestra student music stores don't hire the best instructors.
Kevin Rodriguez
>Flying V soibois fear the flying v
Logan Perez
I use acoustic strings on my Tele
Brayden Perez
Please hire Sam
Leo Hernandez
you got bamboozled for $900 you should had a chainsaw case and for $100 more an epiphone elitist
Nolan Butler
get an ash body guitar like the gibson´s voodoo.
Gavin Collins
I'm not hiring an online instructor, I need an in-person one. I know an in person one will help me correct mistakes and keep me from developing bad habits far better than an online one will.
Daniel Anderson
Just make sure the camera shows your hands Daddy Sam will take care of your technique
Mason Perez
You think an in person instructor could have prevented you from buying an orange crush?
Jackson Wilson
I'm listening to Mahavishnu Orchestra
Jaxon Green
Thoughts on Marshall dsl40 or fender bassbreaker?
Ayden Stewart
Wee woo wee woo retard alert
Sebastian Foster
Yes
Jackson Williams
Please
Ayden Wood
Get a jcm
Leo Walker
Theyre overpriced imo, the reissue and the original units. Theyre not bad units but with what the dsl and bassbreaker can offer for less, id prefer them
Benjamin Martin
Nobody has even been able to explain why the orange crush sucks! It's a great lil amp if you ask me, a guy who has been playing for almost a week.
Jack Bell
Sounds like you already know what you want
Logan Smith
You should just play more
Adam Edwards
C'mon give it a chance he's a good player
Robert Nguyen
shoulda got the V
Nathan Jenkins
It's great, a beginner doesn't need the things that "proper gigging amps" would add. I hope you got the one with the 12" speaker though, anything smaller is for girls.
Joshua White
No, because i stand decide between the two I know there has to be at least 1 user here with one or the other
Jonathan Carter
If user has one, he still doesn't know how it compares to the other one, so it doesn't help
Caleb Sanders
They're both good, I tried both a while back. I liked the cleans better on the Fender but the crunch was good on the Marshall. They're both in a similar tone camp, you can't go wrong with either one just depends what you like. Try both if you can
Benjamin Hernandez
JCM 800, Plexi, Silver Jubilee, Bassman or one of the Ceriatone clones
Christopher Lee
Teach yourself coward
Henry Taylor
Is the silver jubilee just a recolor of a jcm or is it its own unique amp
The 30R which is the best one. Fender made all the other versions slightly different but most people agreed that the 15 had the best overdrive sound, so they included that circuit in the 30R but now it has more headroom/volume and other features. Also the 30R has channel switching while the 15 had some weird gain stage thing with no channel switching
Michael Reed
This is somewhat interesting. If I assume you are in C# major, instead of an Fmin you have an Fmaj7, which can imply a resolvation in A#min, not Em9. So you have a maj7 third instead of minor that resolves into A#m which is the sixth. After that you can pass through the diminished or Cm7b5 to get back to C#. It still sounds like shit though. You can also drop the maj7 and use the minor. In the end I’d do iii - vi - VII* - I, based on what you’ve said. But to answer your question, that’s 2 different keys.
