This is one of the mildest summers in a while actually its just that theres been a heatwave and why and the end of august idk but i dont like it. Autumn is the best guitar season
Carter King
Except PRS SEs are very cheap.
If you have an irrational hatred of real maple caps in particular or something, sure, poorfag, but hating the design itself can't be poorfaggotry because it's available for $500 and the S2s aren't really that expensive either
Something with a bridge humbucker, the amp is ten times more important
Robert Adams
If you're still playing a schecter as an advanced to intermediate player you're not above using the ol paper bag
Austin Nguyen
>there's a face?
Grayson Harris
Even the se is too much for some of these worthless neets and peasants
Isaiah Ortiz
What Joe Satriani fans think they look like
Jeremiah Campbell
it shouldn't be, but they spend all their money on multiple shitty guitars and then save up and buy a crappy MIABM strat as the crown jewel of their collection. so by the time they want a PRS SE they're out of money and missing rent.
Mason Diaz
>MIK ew
James Reed
No one tries to look like satriani you retard. Fuck off with your headcanon
Cameron Nelson
>a patient with poorfa/gg/ syndrome couldnt help but make himself known
Josiah Wilson
For everyone (1 guy) who wanted to see the Jazzmaster I got instead of a Flying V
lol i'm pretty sure at this point that is actually jcum
he's so far gone he trolls himself
Dylan Allen
No one unironically wearing dragon shirts, sunglasses and beanies has any dignity. Nice couch and living room but garbage amp. Hope you couldn't solve the headphone out problem.
Noah Morgan
Still too much dignity to paly n(e)o-soul
Nolan Powell
HA! Headphone out problem was solved today with a new adapter.
I hear the Oud is very hard. Is that because of the quarter tone and maqam stuff? Is it only hard for a western person who's used to the conventional equal temperament tuning system, or it's hard for arabs as well?
how come nobody ever said this about epiphone les pauls?
is the design actually well liked?
Oliver Foster
you might find this surprising but practice works really
Gavin Fisher
play the enter sandman riff for an hour straight using only your last three fingers
Ian Howard
Plz permaban that guitar
Owen Barnes
I thought it looked cooler and if times get tough I can melt down the gold pick guard and sell it for cash
Nathaniel Flores
What are your opinions on fret nibs on jibsons? I'm eying a orville lp custom because I believe frets are more trouble than they are worth. I like the aesthetics of a custom but fret nibs seem like the will be a problem some day.
how is that a thing to overlook? bending a note only to have it caught in between the nibs
Carter Price
They can be sanded and when you refret they can just be removed, not hard to deal with
Josiah Fisher
What are your thoughts on Xotic Effects pedals?
I've used their EP Booster before and I quite liked it. It's hard to try them out locally here in Iceland. Someone in my country but too far to go try out is selling a bundle of an SP Compressor, an EP Booster, a Super Clean, and a Super Sweet boosts. Why would someone use three boosts on their board, I wonder?
Those are all different boosts, thats why. The Xotic ODs are great but are getting harder to find used now at good prices, glad I bought mine when I did. Anyway its top shelf stuff, one of the best boutique brands
Brayden Walker
Something else I wondered is why have so many boosts that boost specific frequencies when you could just get a 10 band EQ or something?
I've just never had a boost on my board unless you count my EQ. I don't know why people use them.
Robert Baker
No. Epis are trash now. Korean made is better than chinese made.
Ayden Cook
Well the EP for example is based off the Echo Plex so it sort of adds in its own unique flavour that is difficult to EQ in on your own. EQ pedals are definitely useful but some people just like throwing on a pedal and calling it day with less tweaking. Also I think one of those boosters is a buffer which helps boosts your signal chain if you have a huge board. I know Xotic sells one of those. Anyway the best boosts (IMO) are clean boosters because it lets you dial in how much gain/distortion you want from your amp, and then just get more of it without adding more distortion/drive. Its a great way to get sustain without adding more mud, so thats the main reason people like them. Also, if you put it through your loop it can be used as a volume/solo boost.
Jeremiah Nelson
Too many chords not enough notes
Thomas Russell
You the dude posting arctic char?
Luis Fisher
Dunno about bending down on the b string but vibratos on the e string seem plausible. Some players are weird user
I've tried using the EP Booster at the end of my chain to try and clean boost for solos and it sucks at that. I'm thinking it's more for putting at the front to color your guitar tone.
Did you just leave it always on for tone, or use it specifically for a volume boost? I don't want it to dirty up my signal too much if I'm trying to play a clean lead part.
Jack Perry
rec me some "wtf you can play this on guitar" songs please
recently learned this (pretty hard imo, especially the chorus) tabs/notes are under video youtu.be/1h5wDKHnGAQ?t=6
Josiah Allen
Anyone feel like tabbing this out for me? I got up to the first half but then everything falls apart.
it's hot here also. i had to dust the shop's sidewalk under the sun of 11am today
Wyatt Ross
lol >colored strings >anime song on guitar
Parker Ward
Fuck bro, I'm sorry to hear that
Carter Diaz
hope so
Joseph Martin
How often do you clean your fretboard /gg/? Do you use something special or just mild soap?
Camden Adams
I do it every string change, once a month. I use lighter fluid to get the gunk off and mineral oil to condition it. For my unfinished maple boards I just use a damp cloth
Jordan Sullivan
lemon oil twice a year
Christopher Roberts
Some wrong chords but otherwise decent, I would give you a dollar.
Tyler Thomas
what wrong chords
Benjamin Robinson
Thank you kindly.
Angel Scott
I liked how it sounded in YouTube videos
Adam Smith
>lighter fluid
The fuck
Josiah White
Do some people just not have the motor skills to play fast? I'm talking about alternate picking every note, not some cheating economy, legato bullshit
It works to dissolve dirt and gunk without tearing up your finish or warping the wood in your fingerboard.
Levi Myers
Why do you want to go so fast
Connor Edwards
Do you ever use your guitar pick to clean your ear?
Cooper Robinson
no i use pens
Kayden Young
no i use the cable for that
Brandon Watson
You're kind of expected to. People want to hear a flurry of notes
Austin Martinez
A flurry of notes sounds like shit if its not musical
Samuel James
Cost/benefit analysis If you are never going to use it, why spend all of that time practicing it?
Levi Diaz
lol it's the other way round
Hunter Garcia
So, no reason? Yeah, there’s no need. Audiences don’t care about dick measuring contests if your songs are hot.
Austin Cooper
headroom
Chase Williams
What does it mean if I'm singing scales and my voice kinda flips into a lighter tone around the d note or the 3rd fret of the second string? Is it ok to keep singing like this for the higher notes?
i dont get if youre asking about singin or if youre practicing pitch, but it is ok to keep at that voice but try to not make it breathy so it doesnt hurt your cords
Leo Carter
muh Amerimutt made
Matthew Johnson
>muh Brazilian monkey made
Adrian Torres
afaik there arent brazilian guitar factories. all brazilian made guitars are handmade. the popular brazilian brands are made in china tho.
Easton Rodriguez
>play tube amp for 6 months >come back to solid state >realize 90% of the tone was in the hands the whole time anyone know this feel?
Listen to arabic dudes shredding on keyboards on youtube and get a feel for it. I grew up around that stuff so it's kind of natural to me
James Perez
I would take that blue one and put up with the gay jokes.
Aaron Gonzalez
>Listen to arabic dudes shredding on keyboards on youtube and get a feel for it What do you mean?
>I grew up around that stuff so it's kind of natural to me You grew up playing Arabic music or just listening to it? Because I never played them but I grew up listening to them as well, and was wondering if having familiarity with that sound could be an advantage, or if I actually need to have played it for a long time for it to be natural like it is for an Arab Oud player.
If you can play the phrygian dominant scale with an arabic feel without much thought, you'll probably be ok
Jack Powell
Its mostly the gauge and radius but with modern, taller frets you arent going to be rubbing against the fretboard as much so there's less friction than vintage style lower frets.
Malmsteen himself doesn't pick every note. And he uses economy picking here and there. But think about it this way: You ever see those widgets and gizmos they sell to people who want to improve their golf game? Yet no matter how much those obsessive boomers study and practice and dissect, they will NEVER compete at the level of a Jack Nicklaus or a Tiger Woods. That's something I like to think about when I want to feel depressed and defeated about my lack of ability.
Just get good. We're already better than people who've never picked up a guitar. To those guys, we're rockstars, and our poorfag gear is fancy as hell. That's what I like to think about.
Zachary Sanders
I enjoyed a lot, thank you very much.
Sorry, I don't play any instrument yet. Is that more difficult than other scales/modes?
What I don't understand is the "getting a feel for it" part. You mean that I should watch Arabic keyboarders play to get used to Arabic scales so it's easier to play them on a Oud?
Aaron Gomez
Yep. Everyone has a genetic ceiling. Just like weight lifting, sprinting. I wouldn't worry too much about. Nobody will beat Shawn Lane's ability on the instrument, even though it isn't a competition.
Adam Diaz
You're not thinking like a woman, try Romeo and Juliet.
Joseph Ross
>it isn't a competition only losers say this
Wyatt Sullivan
>Why do you want to fly? Just chill out on the ground, man.
Jace Sanchez
>Yep. Everyone has a genetic ceiling. Just like weight lifting, sprinting. I wouldn't worry too much about. Nobody will beat Shawn Lane's ability on the instrument, even though it isn't a competition. lmao keep telling that to yourself, normie
Gabriel Green
I remember listening to this in high school and thinking it was the most amazing guitar playing I'd ever heard:
>if it IS musical exactly my point. Most shredders aren't musical
Jose Stewart
>boomers study and practice But they never did any of that. They just think time played = getting good
Aaron Hernandez
>your successful friends
Jaxon Phillips
listen to Kiss
Justin Morales
I slowed some of them down and I have to admit that it does sound like shit musically...but I still want to be able to play a flurry of shitty notes. I mean even fusion sounds like shit when you slow it down.
yes i cut off the head of my chink strat. how does that relate to the pic tho
Angel Cruz
It's not shitty if it creates a nice sonic texture at speed. It doesn't have to sound great slowed down. The speed creates a pleasant sonic texture greater than the sum of its parts.
Blake Ramirez
You're the most successful out of your friends too?
I need help hearing harmony. What's the best way to practice. I'm learning triads and have trouble hearing the middle voice
Cameron Barnes
eat some, you got any paint chips lying around, eat those too
Juan Martinez
practice
Jonathan Clark
Should be fine. Lead free is the shit to avoid.
Charles Clark
>virtuoso blues rock shredder >established guitar brand competing with legendary brands like Fender and Ibanez >excellent online lessons and demo videos >tours in a pro band Why does /gg/ hate him again?
We all need friends, bro. Isolation is not good for your mental health
Jack Martinez
no friends doesnt mean isolation i'm glad i stopped wasting time so i can shitpost i mean practice more
Nolan Garcia
>>virtuoso blues rock shredder "Virtuoso" - no. Good? Yes. Rabea is a better player than he is, imo. And, for the record, both are better players than I am, but I am a hobbyist. >>established guitar brand competing with legendary brands like Fender and Ibanez Neither companies are sweating his existence. He's done well marketing his brand, and I support the smaller luthiers. But he's not going to do more than make small chips in the market compared to Ibanez or Fender. I would bet good money he'd say the same. >>excellent online lessons and demo videos He's good. Excellent? Not so sure about that. >>tours in a pro band "Pro"....yeah, no. They're not bad. Rabea is a better player than he is, but he is an awful singer. But I guess if you put the bar low enough, they're "pro". What tours have they done outside of the UK, if any? They don't have a website, so I can't tell if they ever have. >Why does /gg/ hate him again? I don't, and I don't recall seeing much if any hate towards him. I don't mind him, or his videos, or his guitars (other than the gaudy colors) at all. He does well doing what he is, and seems to be enjoying himself, so more power to him.
But I really hate nut swingers like you. I bet he does, too.
Which amps? I have a SS currently, wondering if the tube meme is worth it
Jonathan Phillips
Not if that user is their son
Bentley Ward
Sam's decent, and he needs the pesos.
Camden Smith
Yeah, it's why BB King died an obscure pauper and Dereck Trucks is unknown.
Ryder Lee
You should check out Tyler Larson's (MusicIsWin) Guitar Super System. It's the best on the market and really helped me to elevate my playing to the next level.
John Hughes
Fuck off Tyler
Nolan Evans
Fuck off Tyler, you're a shit guitarist btw
Luis Gutierrez
At this point I'll take what I can get, though I admit I was hoping for something closer to 40
I want to find a real in person instructor, I can find tons on online instructors. I could go into Guitar Center and get one right now, but I'd prefer if I could find one to teach me in person. From my experience with other instruments, better instructors don't teach out of music stores.
No wonder gg is so full of hacks if there are people who get lessons from normalfag youtube amateurs
Dominic Clark
Some of the best players are self taught, so there's that
Benjamin Nelson
Since you have a Jazzmaster I recommend the jazz guitar lessons of Jens Larsen on youtube.
Jackson Williams
>white guys Holy shit hahaha
Luke Myers
>and I support the smaller luthiers
kek. he has them made at the world music corp factory in worst korea, one of the biggest guitar manufacturers in the world. they make instruments for a whole bunch of different brands.
if you had enough dosh you could get in touch with them and start your very own guitar brand
He should do a black metal clip again. He'd be like Sarcofago 2.
Tyler Young
Been eating chicken nuggets today
Nolan Hill
most of them are. if you have a gift for guitar you won't need regular lessons. holdsworth fucking came up with his own system for music instead of just learning thorugh lessons.
Jordan Myers
Thoughts on Tokai? I heard they make pretty good LPs for a fraction of the price of a Gibson.
who's sam? is he the spic who can barely play and got humiliated by that guy who learned that jazz thing in 5 minutes while sam worked on it all day? that was a while ago
What the fuck. Why is everything in these pictures so disgusting??
Liam Cox
he is someway, somehow proud of his dereliction.
Jaxon Thompson
every MIK guitar i have played and owned was very good, but they all had some really bright, thin tone
even with the same exact pickups as nicer guitars, bright and thin, every time. they must cast gook magic on the wood to rob it of tone, or put something in their fret and bridge alloys.
Jace White
>he has horrible technique
Lol
Ethan Sanders
My mik lp cooy is pretty dark sounding
Logan Phillips
They forgot to cast the gook magic to ensure it would have that tinny "i want to sound like master of puppets" tone.
