all time great
LYBM>Bath
Two of my all time favourite albums
Peak sporkcore
Non metal parts are good
The last song of LYBM shouldn't have ended so boringly after the "I will always look with love thereon"
Not an argument.
I love this shit, especially Bath. Birth Pains of Astral Projection is one of my favourite songs of all time.
Arguably perfect albums. Love them.
First time on here in like 9months and I see one of favs right away.
This shit taught me a lot fuck yes
I really don't get it, the metal parts are awkward
clean parts are godlike
metal parts are godawful
don't get me started on how shitty his gutural voice is
Maximum comfy albums. I really love everything about them, the corniness and sentimentalness, the warm production, the proggy metal growling parts. Once you accept how awkward it all is it's pure joy. There is a long running mystery about what the concept of the album(s) is are about, never revealed by the band, but I personally think it's a sailor moon concept album. It checks out, even the initial cringiness. A true 10/10
I got the initial "cringe" with Bath but not LYBM. But still, you've hit the nail on the head with their unique sound. I'm still yet to find anything remotely similar matching your descriptors.
Amazing two albums
Toby, restock your merch, you fucking midget.
There are two vocalists.
i just have listened to Part the Second, and i love it
I've loved motw since around 2005/6 and i havnt found another album or band that reaches the comfy warmness of bath/lybm. Maybe a couple triphop albums I've heard had a similar production, but ofc very different because they arent metal albums.
Actually give wildhoney by tiamat a listen, that was Toby drivers main influence when they were making bath/lybm. It's really damn good, the rare "sitting by the fireplace in wintertime" metal album.
I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I love PHOBOS. I'd put it 3rd in KDs discography, behind Choirs of the Eye and Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue respectively. Toby's solo debut, In the Library Loft, might be my favorite of all.
What do you all think of the new Vaura album?
Holy shit thank you. About half way through Wildhoney and I'm already loving it. Cheers
You aren't alone, I love PHOBOS as well. Probably third for me as well after Hubardo and Choirs. New Vaura album is pretty decent, only given it a couple spins though. Pretty fucking stocked for Friday - got high hopes for Blasphemy. Restrained myself from listening to the singles, hard work desu.
In the library loft is a 10/10. Underrated as fuck. One of the darkest and most disturbing albums I've ever heard.
Glad you like it. It's a forgotten classic for sure.
PHOBOS is great, surprised the hell out of me.
