I'll contribute, even though nihilism is kind of seen as a meme these days its nice to engage with it from time to time to let out some stress.
thanks
i don't really care how people take this thread
too many 3rd world humans, dummy
Cold river songs
Suicide s/t
Any the body album
Any eyehategod album
Toadliquor
Country Teasers - Destroy All Human Life
I always found the story on this album to be pretty nihilistic.
some one compile a chart of these as we go along please, title it "Nihilism-core"
that's what i'm doing
C93 - I Have a Special Plan for This World
Archers Of Loaf - Vee Vee
thought this was a joke but looking at the lyrics, you're right
All The Pretty Little Horses, too
>WHO WILL DELIVER ME FROM THIS BODY OF DEATH? NIHIL NIHIL
something by Foetus
This list won't be complete without Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
>Sell all you have
>Give it to the kittens
Yeah you right. The cutest nihilism there ever was on that album.
SHIT MIXED WITH BLOOD
Before this thread 404's, I'd like to take the opportunity to shill the noise rock band Bodychoke, especially their album "Cold River Songs." It's the guys from Sutcliffe Jugend making dark, discordant post-rock that's heavily influenced by Joy Division, Neurosis, and 90's Swans. The subject matter in their songs revolves around violence, cruelty, perversion, alienation, and inhumanity in general.
It's roughly as edgy as Brainbombs, but the grim subject matter is played for drama rather than absurd comedy. Still, the edgy subjects are presented in a tasteful and striking way. They end up being pretty damn haunting and ominous when combined with the booming, apocalyptic drumming and moody guitar textures.
For reference:
youtu.be
>"NUCLEAR WARHEADS READY TO STRIKE / THIS WORLD IS SO FUCKED, LET'S END IT TONIGHT"
also to add to the list, perhaps merzbow (pulse demon being the most recognizable, but Venerology the better album cover).
If any anons genuinely listen to harsh noise and/or power electronics, give us some reccs
Genocide Organ has an album with anunch of dead people in aheap on the cover, so it fits our theme. I have not actually listened to it though
While you were out
Lightning bolt s/t
yellow swans - being there
you're no fucking better
This.
Edge gang vol2
or untilted
Gash and Thaw are definitely on par with this

Still amazes me how after 4 years anti world is still the most nihilistic trap albums I can think of that has come out over the years.
the title for this album is so incredibly scary, it implies so little but it just carries such a weight
Unwound's entire discography
is merzbow nihilistic? i think he tries to associate environmental type images with his stuff
Big Black - Atomizer
Cannibal Corpse - Butchered at Birth
Dragged Into Sunlight - Hatred For Mankind
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Death Grips - Exmilitary
Pig Destroyer - Prowler in the Yard
Throbbing Gristle - D.O.A. 3rd and Final Report
jane doe
uneven compromise
dalek

which "while you were out" are we talking?
Fantastic record
wow thanks so much
youtube.com
why aren't there more positive nihilism albums
Any Terrible Feelings, they're generally written with a theme of defeated nihilism.
>When all your children have died
>Malnourished, bloated, and bleak
>Shackled by in utter loneliness and misery
>It will hurt you even more after the black epiphany
>That you've contributed to
>You've made this be
>Where do good dreams go?
>Had a feeling for a long long time
>for my unborn child, there's nothing to enjoy in life
>All the times are grey
>Everyone is the same
>believe me
ok folks, thanks for all the contributions and keep them coming if you want
i'm gonna be making a chart for the genre so i want to listen to all these albums and thin the pack
i will be back with a chart
should i make it a roll chart?
Atrax Morgue's main theme was basically nihilism, suicide, murder, autopsies, burials, death in general, Marco was obsessed with the concept of death and hung himself in the mid 2000s. Doesn't get much more nihilistic than that.
Also early Brighter Death Now
brainbombs is nihilistic to you? but it's sadistic but still passionate
pic related

Might as well make it a roll chart so it spreads easier.
these
Bumping thread, lots of great stuff in here and a lot of new stuff for me personally. Really digging everything.
fuck yeah
>Nihilistic
Based
thanks for your "opinion"
it may be a stretch
nihilistic music i think of very slow, droning, dissonant, monotonous music, maybe one of Keiji Haino's drone albums, SDBM, or harsh noise wall. noise rock is too energetic.
this chart might be "diet nihilism" in your eyes then
>Merzbow
No. Try Vomir for actual nihilism
youtube.com
The Holy Bible- Manic Street Preachers
I said nihilism-core, not cringe-core
My mate.
youtube.com
I know it isn't as loud or noisy as the rest of the albums but steely dan is about as nihilistic and cynical as they come. Great album on top of it all as well.
nice thread
yeah i'm not too sure you know what nihilism is bubsy
thanks, loud & noisy is definitely not a requirement though it does add to the mood
Great band. I love a lot of the stuff Tomkins and Taylor did with the resurrected SJ but I do wish they put out at least one more Bodychoke album before shifting their attention elsewhere.
So how's that chart coming along OP?
duude yaung emperor and kill me moe are so goooood
Bloated Subhumans - Vessels
The Body - Christ, Redeemers
The Body - All of The Waters of Earth Turn to Blood
Rectal Hygienics - Even The Flies Won't Touch You
Rectal Hygienics - Ultimate Purity
Foetus - Thaw
Swans - Filth/Cop
Taint - Sick Sex
The Mentally Ill - The Undiscovered Corpses
Bone Awl - By Ropes Through Dirt
Godflesh - Streetcleaner
Fear - The Record
coming along well, of course there's thinning and listening still left to do but i should have it done in a week or so, once everyone has lost interest in it
youtu.be
this song in particular. a certain ratio hit a variety if moods, but they are definitely edgy.
thats a notrend lyric
i don't think you do actually. nihilism is just the belief that nothing matters. doesn't need to be hopeless
could you post the entire uncut chart if you don't mind? I'd love to have the entire thing
here you go you sick depraved man
how was this not posted yet
