How did two lads who grew up in poverty go on to front the biggest band in the world? I genuinely don't understand it.

What's with the current attempt to make the twats from Oaspish into working class heroes
Will to power is a hell of a drug.
a mixture of sheer pot luck and well written pop music which appealed at the time
The one on the right is cute
Really? It happens all the time

A lot of people were sick of the pretentiousness and self-conscious, self-deprecating posturing that was synonymous with indie/alternative rock by 1994.
A lot of people wanted their alternative bands to actually act and look like rockstars instead of being wimpy shit like Superchunk or The Wedding Present. A lot of people actually wanted their alternative bands to actually have tunes and attitude.
Sonic Youth's Experimental Jet Set, Trash And No Star came out the same year as Definitely Maybe. This is a crucial aspect of understanding why Oasis blew up, and it's something that nobody ever brings up. Probably because nobody remembers how widely reviled Experimental Jet Set was at the time.
the beatles
nirvana
>and well written pop music which appealed at the time
does this still appeal in our time?
Correct
They grew up in a council house when council houses were largely considered to be desired properties, hardly poverty
Potato x
>they wanted them to act like rockstars
>so they listened to whiny music that had no real rock to it, but the band members were dicks so suddenly their boring music is good
>oaspish
Oashit was just hanging out there for you and you didn’t see
>dicks
>he cant handle the bantz
>that had no real rock to it
Lel. These two performances alone were enough to kill grunge in the UK and Europe.

oh boo hoo
Noel was pretty much a proto-Yea Forumstant. He just stayed in his room all day, listened to music and read books/music magazines.
>It’s a good job I didn’t have a mobile phone when I was on the dole at 17. I wouldn’t be sat here today, I fucking assure you of that. I’d have spent all day watching The Beatles on YouTube, getting stoned, thinking, “This is the greatest thing of all time.”
Manics were the same way, just stayed in and watched GnR and Who videos all day
Noel was able to write bangers and Liam had a great voice
Reading old Manics interviews is pretty absurd. Those dudes had an opinion on literally every fucking band out there. The Smiths? They listened to all the albums and had opinions. Aphex Twin? They listened to all the albums and had opinions. Manowar? They listened to all the albums and had opinions.
If Richey is still alive, he's definitely shitposting on Yea Forums and /r9k/.
