I'm rediscovering classical music right now, I played accordeon, I know, a meme instrument, but it's a big deal in Russia and I'm russian so whatever. Other than Russian folk I also played some of Bach's organ work which is very well suited for accordeon but let's get to my point. I'm reading these classical threads day in day out and try to discover new music to listen to but only very little really clicks and it's mostly single pieces by composers, like Schumann's first piano sonata or a Rachmaninoff prelude. The only composer that reliably holds my attention throughout a whole piece (like 15min plus, not like chopins miniatures) is Mozart. I'm obsessed with his work and only listened to 3% or something. I feel like a pleb tho, not being able to appreciate other composers like Brahms, Bruckner, Wagner, Prokofiev, Scriabin, even Bach seems bland, Beethoven has his moments, etc... will this come with time and will the Mozart autism phase go away at some point? I feel like an even bigger pleb asking for your approving but I guess I'm insecure in my taste.

Listen to Bach's cantatas and then see where you stand

>even Bach seems bland
Get the fuck out of here

I guess I understand the appeal of Bach and the fugue autism is a lot of fun to listen to but it seems like a lot of his work is showing off or textbook examples of techniques for other composers to learn from.
Okay I'll try, maybe I'm just retarded and can't really search for the good stuff.

That's why I love him. If you want something a little more thematic and explicit, then definitely check out the Johannes and Mattheus Passions. Art of the Fugue is also one of his more emotional works imo although it's one of the "slowest" I've heard from him so far, I'd recommend Pierre-Laurent Aimard's rendition if you're interested. Also, Prokofiev's piano concertos are also adhd-friendly as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, and maybe try reading along with one of Wagner's operas. I'd imagine it would help you infer how to feel by reading the story.

LORD, have mercy
Christ, have mercy

Glory unto God the Highest, and unto Earth peace, to the men of good will

We praise You
We bless You
We adore You
We glorify You

We thank You for Your magnanimous glory

Lord God, King of Heaven,
God Father omnipotent.
Lord only-child, Jesus Christ.
Lord God, God's Lamb, Father's Son

You who take away the world's sin, have mercy on us. Receive our prayer.
You who sit at the Father's right, have mercy on us.
For You alone are holy, You alone are Lord, You alone are The Highest, Jesus Christ

With the Holy Spirit in the Father God's glory, Amen

I believe in a God, Father Omnipotent, maker of Earth and Heaven, of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, only son of God, and of the Father born before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God. Begotten and not made, one with the Father; through whom all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation He descended from Heaven.
He was incarnate by the Holy Spirit, through the Virgin Mary; and was made into man. Crucified he was under Pontius Pilate, then he passed away and was buried. He resurrected on the third day, as according to the Scriptures, and ascended into Heaven, sat by the Father's right, and will again venture down in glory, will judge the living and the dead, and his reign will be neverending.
And in a Holy Spirit, Lord
and life-giving, who from the father and son proceeds, who is with the Father and Son adored, and glorified, and who spoke through the phrophets.
And in a holy catholic and apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one baptism in the forgiveness of sin, and I expect the resurrection of the dead, and a future life to come.
Amen

Holy, Lord God of Hosts. Plentiful are the heavens and Earth with Your glory

Hosanna in the highest
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the L ORD

Lamb of God who takes away the world's sin, have mercy on us
Lamb of God who takes away the world's sin, grant us peace.

>After the premiere performance Beethoven and Bridgetower fell out: while the two were drinking, Bridgetower apparently insulted the morals of a woman whom Beethoven cherished. While obviously being a big fan of Chopin's music, Scriabin developed his own language, just as much as Chopin was a fan of opera, Mozart, Field and Bach and also developed his own, entirely different language; there is no Chopin to be found in his own creations such as the Mystic chord use with its transpositions and equalising of melody and harmony into the same side of the coin, so try again, sweetie.

Post your favourite pieces.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Beethoven. The harmonies are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of music theory most of the composition will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Ludwig van's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven…

No shit, brainlet. Of course Chopin was a forerunner in harmony, but that's what he was: a forerunner. His language was still grounded in something entirely else. Did Chopin grow all his structures and pieces out of a single chord? No. And those special chords clearly appear only occasionally and serve completely different functions.
>i.e. what chopin does all the time
That's literally incorrect lmao you've no idea what you're talking about.
I get it, you don't like Scriabin, but you don't have to act retarded and make Chopin to be something that he isn't. I love him, he's a prophet, but there was much more to be said on the piano and in terms of composition after his death.

No, he drew emotional landscapes too vast to be reducible to a single chord or idea. Plebs too easily get captivated by such memes about autistically deriving everything from a single ingredient but the real magic is masterfully wielding many and imbuing each with emotional color, in a way that doesn't need words or program notes to be understood intimately. That's also a reason why Mozart > Beethoven by the way.
