boring cause she cant sing

i’ve only heard the lead singles so far but i enjoyed them both quite a bit

t. pleb

It's uploaded officially on her yt now. Solid 8/10 for me.

really shitty and annoying album name

Jesus, I didn’t know Norman fucked Rockwell

Hopefully there will be a sticky fairly soon.
Official video is up for Doin' Time now!
youtube.com/watch?v=qolmz4FlnZ0

its better than ultraviolet

All of her songs still seem to be based on this song.

youtu.be/dlJew-Dw87I

Her best yet for sure

>/dlJew
Heh.

Not that that's much of an obstacle considering her previous work

liked most of the singles. loved venice bitch.

BUT I FUCKING HATE SUBLIME. the fact that there's a sublime cover on the album really taints the whole thing for me.

probably a p4k BNM and fantano 7/8, maybe a grammy for pop vocal album.
I don't know if it's actually good though

How does it compare to her magnum opus Ultraviolence?

Sublime is kino you faggot

Not that that's much of an obstacle considering her previous work

What a talentless, unoriginal, low-dopamine whore.

Album of the year

this is great! i'm loving it

I'm listening to it right now because I saw it had over 4 on RYM and I thought that was insane. But this is good. I've never listened to an album by her before.

not to change the subject, but is it true that she has a fat asshole? just some rumor I heard

it's definitely better than lust for life and maybe as good as honeymoon which is my favourite album of hers

test

All her albums are good. You should give them all a go.

test

no, fuck you. sublime sucks and so do you

best : Cinnamon Girl
worst: Bartender
underrated: How to Disappear

Bartender is easily the worst, Venice Bitch will always be the best song. Cinnamon Girl is also a huge highlight

just now starting, title song fucking KINO

Everything about Lizzie Grant is KINO.

So fucking glad she moved past the jibbagoo collaborations from last year.

This is really good. Only complaint is that other that the songs that have released as singles, they’re all very similar in tone and lyrics. But very Honeymoon and Ultraviolence feels.

test

AOTY

So fucking glad she moved past the jibbagoo collaborations from last year.

This is really good. Only complaint is that other that the songs that have released as singles, they’re all very similar in tone and lyrics. But very Honeymoon and Ultraviolence feels.

Crazy how good an album can be with no agenda about SJW, feminism or Drumpf

So I don’t listen to faggot music but for those that do; is this just an another yid attempt to bury actual Norman Rockwell results when people in the future google search his name?

1. California
2. Love song
3. Hapines is a butterfly

she;sback!

cinnamon girl sounds like a björk song

BEST pop of the year for sure. Might even be better than Ultraviolence.

it's really good, venice bitch is a fucking masterpiece

"My baby used to dance underneath my architecture" is such a great line

Her best album yet. All of the singles are great. California might be my favorite. I've always loved her stuff, but this is the first album that makes me want to bust out my acoustic and strum along.

Despite the gloomy sound, lyrically this is a pretty happy album. Hopefully her crazed female fanbase picks up on it and become inspired.

I'm just happy Lana didn't succumb to the powers that be and go full political. The American flag flies high on the album cover.

Lanas shtick has always been Americana. There's an American flag in most of her stuff

Attached: original.jpg (500x713, 123K)

yfw lana knows about the giantess fetish

Quote from a new interview Lana gave to the NYT.

>I’m really not more of a liberal than I am a Republican — I’m in the middle.

Our Americana girl is back.

Yeah but Sublemon is pretty cool.

Centrists are cringe and bluepilled.

Something about ldr face is..off. like someone took psd smudge tool to it on low flow

Lana del Rey did it! Her masterpiece! Her influences really build up a great album:
Tori Amos, Father John Misty, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd, Flaming Lips, Leonard Cohen and I’d even say MGMT.
She got rid of the moronic collabs of Lust For Life and gets you really into her world, and it’s not the guest vocals dragging Lana into their stylistic mantra. That’s what makes this album such a weird moment for pop music, psych pop piano ballads? No one has ever done that before.

test

She has tons of fillers under her eye area

The greatest is the greatest

dope

That girl is very pretty to me.

bros...its so beautiful...im crying......

me too bro

bmup

venice bitch is the best song she’s made
rest of the album doesn’t hold up sadly

Most of the non singles are pretty mediocre

lana is so amazing in every way

She's the perfect woman. And the album is fantastic

Great album and the production is top notch this is easily gonna be Lana’s peak I don’t see any flaws with this album solid 8/10

next best american record is born to die tier

What's the average track length of this entire album ? I really like the fact that she's making 5+ minutes pop tracks, especially when you consider her target demographic's age and attention span. Bold move that resulted in her best song yet (Venice Bitch). So yeah, glad to see her continue improving and maturing.

in terms of pop, its probably her worst work. its the least formulaic, and fewer hooks. its very contemplative album , alsmot more about setting moods.

its too early to tell how much i do like it compared to the others, but i definitely prefer it in many ways, but i really love her voice and the way she sings, says things and emotes. But the other albums had clear lead singles that fit very well in pop context.

fucking literallyyyyyy

Attached: '''.png (299x409, 243K)

Would it be fair to say that its pushing the boundaries of pop music ? If she still counts as a pop artist at this point. I was just surprised considering her calibre and popularity to see her embark on this singer/songwriter type of journey. This is something I'd expect to see from someone like Angel Olsen, rather than Lana. But hey, good music is good music.

Still, she switched from making stuff for teen tumblrinas to appealing to Karen, divorced 38 year old college dropout who keeps jumping from one profession to the next while fronting as a free thinking business innovator.

It's funny cause it's true

Only if you're a 13 year old.
Your post might be the plebbiest thing I've seen on here in a while and I see Tool and Kanye threads daily.

lmao she is a terrible writer, also what are you talking about? a lot of psychedelic pop is piano-based

She looks exactly like my sister

>Would it be fair to say that its pushing the boundaries of pop music

How the fuck can you even possibly think that? This is a completely conservative album, with very traditional songwriting and plain instrumentation. Lana del Rey does not have the talent to pull off anything that's complex.

i can't believe this industry plant is still making music

does lana del ray not know there's already a song named cinnamon girl?

Can someone please tell me what sample is used in Doin' Time? Cannot put my finger on it but it sounds kinda like early Hooverphonic and if not, I'm pretty sure I already heard it somewhere.

There are also songs named California (Joni Mitchell, Grimes), The Greatest (Cat Power), Love Song (Madonna) and obviously Doin’ Time (Sublime)-because it’s a cover-.

It's a cover that samples an old jazz tune. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Yeah, but Cinnamon Girl is such a specific title that's already a song. It's like naming your new song Positively 4th Street.

IF U WERENT MINE ID BE JEALOUS OF UR LOVE

this is easily the most annoying trait of hers. like i get >muh recontextualization but the continuous barrage of super-overt references in titles and lyrics takes me out of the music every time. given her stature, you would think she could ditch that shit and stand on her own two legs by now. maybe it was helpful when she was starting out, trying to edge herself into the greater canon of things, but she's well established at this point. it also has a detrimental effect on her lyrics, which have improved with every new album

fucc....i miss btd era lana

aotysf without a doubt

“dennis’ last stop before kokomo” is a great line though and works really well in the context of the song

The 24/192 LP rip is up on redacted and rutracker; sounds amazing as usual

Why are the songs so fucking long

good album, as usual from ldr :)

fuck boys, ive never listened to lana at all.. but this is fucking good.

glad you’re enjoying it, user. which songs are you liking the most?

What's her fucking problem? Every song is the same dreary shit. Her only hit was Summertime Sadness because someone else remixed it into a good song.

it's a good song so i'm ok with it

it's a deeper and better written Ultraviolence with sprinkled in BtD choruses

sublime fans seriously compete with jam band fans for cringiest, plebbiest people on the planet. and i'm currently wading through a board with four pages of fibonacci-obsessed neckbeards jerking off about a pallid, droning metal album from some pseud who named himself after an economist

her fans have no taste and demand no better

>every song is same dreary shit
t. skipping through the album instead of listening to the songs

What will be the scaruffi rating then?

watch Venice Bitch earn this album a Scaruffi 8. Yea Forums will truly melt the fuck down

Can’t wait for 2021

Favorite tracks on first listen are venice bitch and hope is a dangerous thing

>not making little cummies hearing mommy say "t-t-t-" on bartender
cringe, bluepilled, blocked, filtered, and destroyed with facts and logic

Cry more

The review in a nutshell:
>manifesto
>tour de force
>a la Joni Mitchell
>Elton John-esque
>pathos in Fuck it I Love You
>bouncy trip-hop Flaming Lips-ian
>Tori Amos inspired

SEETHING ideologue

no it's not
ultraviolence and honeymoon are her 2 great albums

So true, man.

Attached: drake sicko mode.png (312x349, 84K)

This. Lana is too fucking scared to raise her voice and not use any vocal effects. She is plain and subdued.

Not him but they're fucking boring. It's low energy mall music

god damn man child

NFR is easily her most traditional and conservative album yet, with a little bit of the BTD trip-hop shinging through from time to time. it's got a touch of every album she's made except Lust for Life thank god.

its not loud and lush and self indulgent as I wanted it to be. but Lana honestly really wouldn't be able to pull off loud anyways. she's always been an artist whose visuals and aesthetics i absolutely adore but her music has always fallen short of my expectations. subdued and traditional instrumentation and songwriting aside, this is easily her best record and a 9/10. it just makes me wish harder for something i'd wished for all along-- that we could go back in time and have someone with a strong and more emotional voice become the centerpiece of 2010's Sad White Girl culture. but i'll settle for the Lana we got because damn if she didn't deliver today.

What the fuck. Is it actually that good?

Attached: ldr.png (385x204, 25K)

Next Best American Record would have been a better album name.

Don’t think it’s conservative at all. I mean what do you mean by conservative

Lana has always been conservative musically; she wants to go back to the baroque aesthetic of 1960s and claims Connie Francis as an influence, for God's sake. This is why LfL doesn't work with all the modern trap trappings.

HM sucks dick, get better taste kiddo.

the greatest will be the last song i listen to before i kill myself

hello fetishes

I don't get it. I'm about halfway through it right now, and it's just incredibly boring. I truly don't understand what the hype is about.

mazzy star nostalgia

Even Filterman is shilling for this album on his show today. Conservatives are fapping over it for some reason. Not sure why. Does she sing about miles of fence built?

Lana just makes music for people who like Lana Del Rey music
but listen to the vinyl rip; the CD compression is always a bit naff

salvatore, high by the beach, freak, the blackest day are all great tracks. I also like the trap influence and the production

people are desperate for good new music

2deep4u

That context unironically makes it make a little more sense.

Centrist is about as far right as a person can possibly be in the entertainment industry.

you’re fun and you’re wild
but you don’t know the half of the shit that you put me through
your poetry’s bad and you blame the news
but i can’t change that
and i can’t change your moods
cause you’re just a man
that’s just what you do

Post your sister

I'm probably late to the party, but does anyone feel like Mariners Apartment Complex sounds like Karma Police?

i have a pretty good idea of the general 'feel'/aesthetic of all lana's records except honeymoon. that one came out very suddenly and sort of slipped through the cracks in the wake of ultraviolence. can't even remember spinning it. it's sort of the anonymous one in her catalog. anyone else get this feeling?

>no references to Drumpf

I’m impressed

Kanye is black trump.

Her entire discography has multiple hip hop and modern pop influenced songs

but that’s lana del rey?

>WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I DON'T WANT POLITICS IN MY ART

I fucked her in the asshole back in 1998. It was ok.

>too cool for chords

same, along with mariners apartment complex and the greatest

>you'll be the first who ever did

It’s good but nowhere near THAT good. It should be in the 3.50s range.

Wew, i just got to The Greatest. It's so beautiful.

Sometimes I wonder about the minds of the people who feel a single ounce of emotional response to any of this woman's music.

Lana announced her next album already, White Hot Forever. She says it'll be out in 12 or 13 months.

based

she seems to be on a huge creative streak at the moment. I hope Jack produces again, or she works with Dan Auerbach again. I think it'll most likely be country influenced.

Bumping AOTY thread

>Mexican Coca-cola made with real cane sugar
wtf I love LDR now! one copy of NFR please.

Where's the sticky? Did the mods forget or something?

Attached: 1558100793953.jpg (475x640, 73K)

UV Lana was the hottest and had the best aesthetic, but I think this album might be better than UV.

doing Goddess' work, lipsters

She does have amazing hips and legs

I prefer reycists

my favorite songs from the album were norman fucking rockwell and cinnamon girl

based taste

Dennis’ last stop before Kokomo

she has some good lines this time around

Wouldn't mind seeing her next album get produced by someone meme-tier like Arca or SOPHIE for something unusual and different desu.

she should let me produce her next album

she should let me produce her children

technically she’d be producing your children user

btw i fucked her first
