listened to the leak and the production is god awful. Waiting for the official release before I make any serious judgements on quality, but musically it was good. Not necessarily impressive or unexpected. It's exactly what I would have told you 2019 Tool would sound like in 2005.

looking forward 2 the album

Pretty good. It has a few amazing tunes (half the album basically) but it doesn't quite reach that high like on previous albums (even 10,000 days, like on Rosetta Stoned for example). I guess what sticks out is that is very consistent throughout, and that even though everything sounds so familiar there's something about it that distinguishes it from their previous efforts, but I can't really put my finger on it.

the only track that's "meh" is culling voices but that's only 10 minutes out of 80

It's a 6.5/10. Nothing amazing.

It's just their most "progressive" release. Every song is long and has a lot of build up compared to previous albums that had more straightforward metal songs.
