The one defining feature of fusion - which is improvisation, is completely absent in their stuff - they were rigidly NOT improvising, ever. This might be a dumb question but I have an AmPro Strat with finished satin neck. Over time it's begun to lose its finish and it's not as fast of a neck anymore. Parts of it are now unfinished or have very small layer of satin.

I think months went by where I never played more than an hour in a day and everything just felt dead and straining. This week Im back home for school, playing three or four hours a day, and the strain is finally gone. Guitar feels like butter, fingers do what they should without any tension and picking up new licks and songs is so much easier
