Perma link to user discord worked a few weeks ago, but appears to be dead. Found this buried in the archive, so feel free to inhabit and maybe revive it at your own risk >discord.gg/kgaZkZ7
Under rated/ over looked indie dreampop grouo. They made some amazing music and their first album swoon is lost I can’t find it anywhere. But what they do have out is all 10/10
All of the side projects, namely: Calm, Valium Aggelein, Helvetia.
Seam, Bluetile Lounge and Love, Claire are other great Slowcore bands.

How do you guys enjoy your shoegaze? Such as where and when? For me it's late at night or the early hours of the morning in my room. It's the only time when I'm relaxed enough to appreciate it, i like listening when I'm sleepy.

Here is the collection of Sweet Trip's loosies and compilation appearances, including tracks from the band members' Soundclouds. Thanks nice shugazi general user!
I only come back to shoegaze when I'm really depressed. And I just came here for the first time in a year
Dylan Cox
Whenever i feel happy. Because when i listen to shoegaze it gives me this nostalgic sort of depression for some reason so when i'm in a good mood it balances out. That's why i actually don't like shoegaze all that much. Just certain artists that don't give me that depression
>2, might change to 8 in a month or two depending on some things >Loveless, Souvlaki, Drowned in a Sea of Sound
Luis Walker
Here is an updated chart of 2019 projects that may appeal to you, so give them a try! Good variation of sound and all recommended by someone in these threads
I'd say it ranges in between a 5 and a 9 at times.
Sebastian Clark
Which song would you guys say influenced shoegaze most? For me, it's a tough call between Lou Reed - Real Good Time Together (1978) youtu.be/aG47W6ieyoY and The Smiths - How Soon is Now? (1984) youtu.be/4PIi1LWkfDE
Camden King
I'm gonna go ahead and say it. And I don't care what you think.
Japan is ruining shoegaze
Nathan Hall
Elaborate.
Personally I'm not that into japgaze because it often feels like a lot of different ideas compressed into individual songs, the vocals are too upfront in the mix and the sound feels very sugary.
Nicholas Rodriguez
Basically everything you listed are all of my reasons for saying this.

What other shoegaze albums out there are similar to LSD's s/t? I know that a lot of albums would be considered hazy/fuzzy/warm/etc but there's something different to the s/t's atmosphere I can't put into words and it's hard to find something like it.
Hey anons, I've gotten into shoegaze rather recently and I haven't found anything I like nearly as much as Loveless. I have found a few Japanese records that I do really enjoy as well though. Those include: Nightlife - Yuragi Urban Twilight - Oeil Seifuku Kanro Club - Tokenai Namae The problem I've come across when looking for other albums is that they tend to sound like Loveless clones. I'm really just looking for stuff that sounds similar to loveless with out completely ripping it off. For example, Lilys - In the Presence of Nothing felt very much like it was trying to be loveless. Do you anons have any recs with the sound I'm looking for?
I keep having weird fucking dreams about kevin shields being this comforting entity. Almost like an angel guiding me towards happiness. I can just seem him and the band slighty fading while playing into reality only enough to make out their figures. I constantly hear "Soon" in the background when these dreams happen. Anyone else have weird dreams like this?

nah but i wish

This is great thanks user.

Is there anything like the last track of this album? I remember the band saying if they ever made more music it would be in the style of that song.
>4 but next months it's either going down to 0-1 or going up to 8 or more >mbv - loveless >astrobrite - pinkshinyultrablast >the goslings - grandeur of hair
been listening to Lush again today, nice band nice, haven't seen this one recently Luminous Orange is something to possibly try, I don't personally think it sounds like a Loveless clone but you may disagree I agree with you about Lilys. If you want a real laugh, listen to Deafcult. It's good music but the most laughably loveless clone there is very spot on
Jordan Hall
I actually like Drop You Vivid colours but not quite as much as the other records I listed. I wouldn't call it a clone either. I'll take a listen to Deafcult, I love hearing the blatant loveless clones.
I've been skipping Dagger for years, can't listen to it. Such a sad song, especially to end an album with :(
Andrew Jenkins
Speaking of underrated dream pop youtube.com/watch?v=Rs-mkV0-Erc Nice. I haven't heard this one. I have to check out the stuff they did in the 2010s, even though RYM seems to hate it, but who can trust those shitheads.
sadly Secret Shine falls into the stereotype of one really good song and never reaches it again, but I recommend the albums "Untouched" and "Greater than God and Other Singles"
