why does it seem like everyone in these threads make some sort of electronic, beat heavy, trappy music? is it because all it requires is for you to have a pc and minimal equipment/nobody else to help you make music?
This question isn't intended to be an insult, lots of the musicians I see in these threads are great, just curious why it seems everyone tend to make music in a similar way here.

Good question, here's a simple answer:
Making music on the computer is just so damn accessible & it doesn't really have limitations to that of physical instruments. These are just ideas from those who treat this as a creative hobby. What gravitates them to those sounds you mentioned is specifically due to them listening to similar music and emulating that to theirs. Your 2nd question almost seems rhetorical. Thanks for observing what makes these threads what it is. I've noticed the same things as well.

I really love a lot of electronic music so it just made sense to start making my own. And since it's more accessable than ever to make, it's easy as fuck to pick up a copy of a DAW and just run with it. I think a lot of people in these threads started with the same mindset. I think seeing how well spread out every subgenre is on these threads is really cool. Some vaporwave, trap, meme music, dubstep sometimes. It's really cool.
