Who?

>20+ years later, I’m slowly turning into what you’ve created

I just found out the Video Music Awards are tonight and I’m confused as to why it’s still a thing.

what, you don’t like teenage moms user?

it’s also in New Jersey.
as if we need anymore shitholes to keep hosting shit music.

lawl, I would only watch this for missy elliott. her music videos are the only reason why tonight’s show will only have relevancy.

they hosted it in Miami, California, New York and Las Vegas. if anything, I’m more shocked it hasn’t come to Chicago yet.

after Michael Jackson debuted on here, I knew it would never be the same. at least they had some decent cartoons.

As a Gen X’er, I’ll have you know “Remote Control” is still good.

>Video Music Awards
>music videos
>music
Most of the music isn’t really music related. It’s just try hard versions of “cinematic” movies that aren’t even fleshed out.

>why it’s still a thing.
it's almost 10 years since the Kanye incident
if there's no mention of that tonight, specially after Taylor Swift going to it then they will finish today

There’s only a few parts of New Jersey that are shithole related, but they would never have any of their artists go there. You must know how Hollywood moves.

>hosting shit music
they’ve been doing this since the early 2010’s. you must be new.

>Gen X
>Remote Control
So it’s not The State?

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” was like watching a movie. That is just a few of many reasons why that argument falls flat.

no singled out?
get lost hippies

MJ and Madonna changed the landscape of what pop music would ultimately turn into. Their music videos felt different for what the 80’s would turn into, but the fact that we went from them to Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X speaks volumes in my opinion.

>it’s also in New Jersey.
>as if we need anymore shitholes to keep hosting shit music.
t. backwoods hick who lives in cancer alley and has never been to new jersey

Billie Eilish is the new flavor of the month pop star that makes emo music look trendy, and Lil Nas X is a meme who’s getting lucky with the newfound fame. Can’t really compare the two.

MTV is called MINDLESS TELEVISION for a reason.

YouTube is turning more into reality TV than actual music TV. I think they care more about news, politics and corporate-friendly content creators than actual celebrities in LA.

>hasn’t come to Chicago yet
so they could get robbed and shot?

>New Jersey
>shithole
Well anything is better than living in NY, I guess.

How can you listen to this shit? Pleb. Go listen to tool instead0

I thought it was The Beatles that made MTV what it was back then. I still remember them playing a lot of classic rock and alternative rock from the vintage days.

Sleazy late night MTV was the best.

>I thought it was The Beatles that made MTV what it was back then
nigga MTV didn't even existed when the Beatles were at the peak of their popularity

I think he’s talking about the reason mtv was created was because of the Beatles. Not because they played music from them.

I thought it was MockeryTV.

>I prefer “MY TITS N VAGENE”

the majority of MJ’s movies were actual movie styled projects. most people are already aware of this dood.

nice stache

>when I want to laugh but I know it’s cringeworthy

toots and vagene sounds better

miss these lil niggas like u wouldn't believe

nope. it’s still cringe, but it’s okay.

>at a super bowl party
>halftime show comes on
>"turn on celebrity death match"
>"fuck you, dude"
>go home
>watch it
>get back before play resumes
>with time to spare
suckers i showed them

You must be thinking of Detroit

>new flavor of the month pop star
I thought that was Lizzo
>Lil Nas X is a meme
True, but so was Donald Glover when he made “This is America”

single teenage mothers are still a thing, with or without my MTV. we need to destroy them.

looking at the huge downfall MTV created amongst themselves, I’m shocked that OP is shocked. digital entertainment defeated all passion for making real music sound good.

>not calling it JewTV
silly goyim

Comedy Central is going through the same thing.
They have to make lame Trump jokes and dead xxxtentacion jokes just to remain relevant.

>actual celebrities in LA
is that why Will Smith and Jack Black have youtube channels?

MTV even changed up their movie awards ceremony a few years back. They’re directly competing with Hulu and Netflix. It’s not a surprise.

don’t forget Beastie Boys and N.W.A
they actually made hardcore and gangsta rap look more appealing to the youth, even if it felt destructive.

>20+ years later
>forgotten
kind of hard to forget something that would only appeal to easily impressed youth that have to watch music videos to like music

>Beastie Boys
They were originally a punk band that liked rap.
They just happened to be lucky and talented to combine the two.
