i've never heard electronics blend so seamlessly with this type of music
hard to describe but most electronic rock bands have a lead synth playing on top of the rest of the music, but on some of these songs each guitar note has a synthesizer-produced thingamajig buried under it to create a new sound and i think that's cool

Pic related, though possibly via bias on my part since there have been plenty of really good releases this year (I don't expect it to but if the rest of the year has disproportionately (compared to other years this decade) great shit and a fair amount of it, I could picture it being even better than 2018) that I might otherwise call better.
BUT I've wanted a new energetic all-over-the-place great prog/Zeuhl album for years and I'm just happy I finally got one and that it exceeded expectations. I'm not even big on the genre/subgenre, not that I hate it, just that it's much more rare for me to get into one -- I just felt like there's been a major shortage and I'm glad it's been filled (I call one great album a qualifier for saying it's been filled, since I don't expect to see more this good any time soon.
