DSOTM is kino.
So is Meddle (especially "Echoes" and "One of These Days") and Piper.
Animals is okish, so is "Comfortably Numb".
Ummagumman and Atom Heart Mother are meh.

The rest is a bit boring. I don't know how I sat through the wall so much as a kid, I remember getting bored for parts of it, especially that trial part.
Only Thin Ice (all parts) and Comf Numb make that album.
Gilmore is just the superior musician while Roger occasionally nails the lyrics. Sometimes the lyrics are crap though.
Sid's lyrics are just... I don't even.

Dad always told me never to bother with it and pretend it doesn't exist.
Same with In Through the Out Door (though I liked "In the Evening" on live recordings).

Ah... Dadrock.

great parental advice

Page must have been fucking spent after 10 years of bingeing.

At least it's better than The Final Cut

>he doesn't like The Trial
Holy fuck get some taste

Seriously. Also, the direction music was taking at the time wasn't kind to a lot of late '60s, early '70s bands who felt they had to adapt.

So they did softish rock?
Wasn't punk and thrash metal emerging?
Why.
Zep needs to be dark, moody and heavy on riffs. That band should have naturally progressed to somewhere between where Tool and Kyuss ended up.

But the mainstream sound was going in the direction of synth. The same thing happened with Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton. Punk and Thrash were always on the fringe compared of Pop.
