26 years and counting. There is never silence.
Loneliness is worse than a sound you cannot shut off.
what a retard. you listened to your shit music too loud and it killed your hearing. it wasn't the headphones, you're just an idiot. press S to spit on grave.
Thats why I don't wear those ones where the speakers press right against your ears.
LLS
I've already had tinnitus for 8 years now. I developed it from working in loud environments despite wearing hearing protection, which can only do so much. Anyway, it's definitely annoying, but I notice it less over time. I'm definitely pissed it happened to me and I hope medical science can eventually discover a solution to permanently alleviate the condition.
t.satan, you guys now know what kind of headphones you have to buy
how the fuck do people not cope with ringing is your mind so empty you can only register what's in the external world
Headphones are pleb tier. I would rather not listen to music than be a headphone cuck
have it too a lil. like the idea of being alone, i rather not think about it and it don'T bother me when i dont. if i do, like now, i see it as a reminder of the "sound" of cosmic backgorund humming and hissing we can't hear... also i like noise and minimalism , makes it more bearable
Reminder that an iPod can output 102 decibels in the ear and is enough to cause permanent hearing damage in 28 seconds.
You weren't a dumb kid blasting it at full volume, were you? Just so you know, there is no way to restore hearing damage. You will need hearing aids and they are not very good even today.
Also, good luck getting a workers' comp claim for hearing damage. Less than 4% acceptance rate despite it being the most common occupational long term disability. They will deny your claim for any reason. Ever been to a concert? Denied. Claim hearing loss in one ear but have it in both? Denied.
Haha I was born with it I love it
I read somewhere that there's a group of researchers planning to cure tinnitus within 10 years
I don't care if it's not real, just that feigned sense of safety allowed my brain to really get over it and now i only faintly hear it in quietest of quiets
Who are you trying to scare?
I became aware of my tinnitus at 18. Probably already had it for a while. It got a little worse when I turned 24 and it's caused a dozen or so panic attacks over the past 5 years.
I do not expect a cure to become available during my lifetime, but I've learned to accept it through meditation.
i've had tinnitus since i was a teenager and it's only gotten worse over time. i was a punk shithead and would go to basement shows with no hearing protection.
there's a constant loud as fuck hissing sound in my right ear that even white noise machines and fans and stuff can't mask.
I have like a very slight practically imperceptible ringing in my ears that's pretty subtle and that I wouldn't notice unless I was sitting doing nothing. I can still focus on quiet tasks without being distracted. Does everyone have this or do I have tinnitus?
I have that exact thing. I always assumed it was blood rushing or some piece of electrical equipment that I normally wouldn't notice.
Now.
It's no mystery that I'm lazy as a lazy something.
Can mu explain tinnitus before I'm forced to Google it or Wikipedia it?
The majority of people who have it either don't notice it or it's not loud enough to bother them.
>allow me to tell you about how you should cope with a condition that I don't have and which makes daily activities for everyone who has it more difficult to focus on
Lived with mine for 5 years, doesn't bother me at all anymore and doesn't negatively affect my daily life at ALL...
The only time i find it a little bit annoying is when i use earplugs, but that's it.
Fuck off
>IT programmer
not sure if I understood, was he an IT Programmer Software Developer Engineer Code Monkey?
I also have this. Fuck factory jobs.
What a fucking pussy. My grandfather began to work at a sawmill when he was 13 years old and has had tinnitus since then. He's 85 today.
I really do think I'll kill myself by the time I hit 50, aging and the shit it brings on like hearing loss is literally the worst thing imaginable.
My grandma, who really is in excellent shape for a 78 year old, still has had a hip replacement, dentures, hearing aids, and is constantly getting operations for skin cancer. Plus my mom has basically gone blind in one eye. Both of them lived their lives far more cleanly than I have so far and were very active, so I can only imagine what's waiting for me.
And as your body falls apart on you you're still expected to show up to work at least 8 hours a day with half the energy that you had in your youth. And imagine if you add kids to the equation.
Fuck that. Maybe when my metabolism shits the bed and I start getting fat I'll check out of life.
For those of you willing to watch yourselves decompose in a mirror, enjoy the ride.
i've had it forever, i don't really know silence, that's just how it is.
there are are a lot of little annoyances in life that will drive you mad if you focus on them
>white people
cringe
It's not like you can't do anything about it. Eat less shit and exercise.
There is hope.
wtf, why do so many people here have tinitus in America?
I just looked up the percentages and 32% have it in America whilst 10% of the UK have it.
the person he describing
how do u meditate with a ringing noise
settle down, yeah?
Focus on your breath
Ringing bells is a part of meditation for Buddhists!
This stuff is way over-blown. I have pretty bad visual snow that I can't ignore but it doesn't bother me. Just accept it's going to be there, it's not really a big deal.
Terrified that i might already have it coming soon. I don't listen to loud stuff that much but the damage might already be done
Doesn't everyone have a little noise in their ears? It's never noticable when listening or doing things but when it's totally quiet it's as loud as you pay attention to it. I've had that since before I ever used headphones.
