It's a fast food culture in music form, it's not good.
If you want to start a band you need three to five guys who all can afford instruments, and good ones if you want to be good, nobody is gonna take a band seriously playing a 50 dollar guitar from Walmart, as well as amps, microphones, and drums....and actually take care of those instruments, buying strings and picks, etc, possibly paying for lessons etc etc.
Would be far cheaper for a kid who lived in the ghetto to just get a turntable. Of course I'm talking about the genesis of hip hop music, that was the case. Nobody uses that shit anymore anyway it's all computer bullshit.
