Emgtv has alot of bass players doing demos. Its a great channel.

yeah it's a neat trem system for sure. Stays in tune really well. Just sucks that spare parts are expensive and I think its just one guy that makes them.
Robert Thompson
You're a tranny and I'm supporting trannies by buying it, why are you mocking me?
How does that tremolo compare to a Floyd? Blue chucks with red laces, an American flag patch on one shoe and a communist hammer and sickle with a red circle around it and a red line through the hammer and sickle patch on the other shoe.
Levi Bailey

Literally any amp but fender for metal. You sound like a dumbass that dont know shit
Jonathan Wright
BC Rich guitars are nothing but ridiculous looking. Jackson necks are too flat for my taste. ESP's necks are pretty close to the ideal for a superstrat - still usable and comfortable for extended periods of things other than lead playing, and they're capable of tasteful finishes. I like the string spacing and lack of weight on the average ibanez but not much else. Gibsons are classic, acoustic-like designs and offer great values with the studio/faded/tribute models. Fender is the only company here I really don't like. Some people can make them sound amazing, but I've never played a fender I didn't hate. It must be the neck radius disagreeing with my fingers, or the tone from the way their neck joint is constructed, or how they wind their pickups, but whenever I play a fender I sound passable but twice as bad and sloppy. Every other guitar I've played I've liked to the point of saying which one you have doesn't matter, but strats, teles, jazzmasters, mustangs, etc, I can't deal with.
Maybe I have fucking arthritis, my hands are permanently conformed to flatter necks, and I never noticed.

>Jackson necks are too flat for my taste. ESP's necks are pretty close to the ideal for a superstrat
These companies - pretty much all companies - make guitars with various neck profiles. The fuck are you on about?
Jordan Morales
Pretty much every company has a "signature" collection of neck styles and guitar designs they're known for, where you can pick it up and know who made it without seeing the name on the headstock.
If you buy outside that, you just entered their generic "guitar brand guitar" range that only exists to make more money.
all lawsuit posters are under arrest therefore unable to post. Now that you've mention it, expect your lawsuit any moment.

Damn, the mods are on point today. Nuked from fucking orbit. Just damn.

Kinda on topic and off topic. About 7 or so years ago i recall watching a video of a guy in a giant oversized Fluffy hooded winter coat covering Holland 1945 on a giant tentacle hentai guitar with distortion set to max. I was wondering if anyone had that video or knew the guitar in it.
Asher Lee
And yours, as well
Christopher Long
Nice, looks like it's been refretted too.

They'd save themselves a lot of work if they just range-banned Brazil.
Xavier Evans
Need a budget, to go there. Money no object? 5150 Mk III. Mesa Boogie. There's tons of amps on the market, that would fit your needs, it all comes down to how big your budget is.
Also Fender is an indie rock brand now, Ibanez caters to prog/jazz-fusion, ESP makes the death metal/djont guitars for rich people, and Jackson is "who?". Get with the times.
Chase Murphy
I strum hard, and I hear jaguars/mustangs’ strings pop out or something if you strum too hard? Is this a big problem? Cuz I really want a fender guitar
Noah Martinez
that shit was custom
Aaron Rodriguez
What?
Tyler Morgan
It's nothing like a floyd, the only thing they have in common are the fine tuners and locking nut. The tremolo is more resistive like a standard strat tremolo.
I just took an adderall and spent 3 hours trying to get this riff right twice in a row, anybody have any advice on how to do this better besides muting? I'm going to look up some tutorials on beginner muting right now.

Justin Mitchell

I tried out Guitar Tuna and Fender, but the fender app kept fluctuating too much. Tuna seems to filter background noise and motion noise much better.
Angel Cook
Gonna try out the Boss tuner by Roland, the fact that it's made by a decent music corp and not some fag makes me optimistic.

Worst Things About /gg/:
>I've got $300-$400, should I get a KATANA? Will it be LOUD ENOUGH? No, you should buy a used fucking 10-40 watt tube amp. Always. If you have the money for a Katana you have the money for something with tubes. Yes, it will be loud enough.
>Rate my playing? No, unless you're Pink Suhr or one of the two or three other decent musicians on here or you have a decent recording with a full band, no one wants to hear your blooz rock licks mixed by the fine engineers at Vocaroo. At least spend $10 to get an external mic so our ears don't bleed.
>jcope 'Nuff said.
>How long will it take to git gud? Forever, mate. You just gotta figure out what you want to be a little better at every day.
>Do I need music theory? Yes, at some point you'll learn some theory whether you want to or not. If you've got time, it's worth learning some harmony.
Bentley Evans
So ESP is a good guitar but the LTDs are not, right?
Samuel Gray
>talks about based brands >doesn't mention Stagg clearly bait
Nolan Young
Only if its an ESP made in the Tokyo shop
Camden Powell
Do you pick certain brands based on the genres you play? Are certain brands of electric guitar better for certain genres?
No but some gauges of string are better suited for some genres. It just so happens Strats use 9-42 by default, LP/SG use 10-46, and so on, so you get the association.
Hunter Evans
3 fingers: middle on the d string, ring on the g string, and pinky on the b. make sure to have your fingers curved, like you're gripping the neck, and have your pointer finger curved as well but not muting the other strings, like on the first fret of the b so you can bring your pinky up and play an a minor. Something I like to do is to rest my thumb so it's muting the e string
Nicholas Taylor
And here i thought i had big hands with 7.4in. palm to middle finger. Buy a guitar its fun to play. Beats vidya desu.
Gabriel Reyes
Emmmm, kind of but only sometimes? Like, I don't think Fender produces anything you'd want to use for metal with the exception of their basses. But also it would be weird to see someone bring a Dean or ESP or Schecter to a blues jam. I think it mostly depends on how well you know the brand, who their target consumer is in terms of preferred musical style. ESP and Dean clearly cater to the metal crowd, D'Angelico goes after jazz, blues, and rock guys, Fender goes after players who want versatility with classic designs, Ibanez goes after the latest crop of shredders, and Gibson goes after other guitar manufacturers with trademark infringement lawsuits.
Imagine thinking the output of guitar electronics is suitable for tuning purposes
I've never had good results with those fucking pedals. Mics and clip ons are way more accurate.
It's not really the brand but the shape and color. Aggressive shapes and burl tops just stand out anywhere. An ESP eclipse or snapper in a solid color would look pretty normal at a blues jam. Nobody would care, strat and LP clones are everywhere and nobody really gives a shit about the brand but /gg/. LPs still made in kalamazoo by old gibson emplyoees are considered clones. Strats made by leo himself are considered clones.
Ryder Powell
>I don't think Fender produces anything you'd want to use for metal with the exception of their basses charvel = fender EVH = fender jackson = fender this = obviously fender
>can't tune the signal of an electric guitar because it isn't high enough amplitude this post brought to you by: a literal retard >read rest of post 3/10 here's your (you)
Henry Young
Okay, maybe that was retarded.
But the second part wasn't. >3/10 Truth hurts for a brand fanboy. Big brands are soulless corporate shit, sold to and bought by suits, not luthiers. The original men who gave them their reputation left ages ago, and if they made the same things as always, they were "knock offs" in their own sense. I, and most normal people, don't care if your "LP" says Gibson, Dean, or Condor on the headstock as long as it sounds good, because it's all made on CNC machines owned by guys in suits anyways.
All that heritage and legacy and all the words like "iconic" are meaningless now. It's not a Fender, it's a product of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Carved by a robot, painted on a conveyor, and strung up by some random beaner.
I'm the opposite of a brand whore. fenders made by Leo would be considered fenders by any reasonable person, though. even shape/color dont matter. if you can play blues convincingly nobody will care it's on a BCRich monstrosity. if you play blues like shit on a strat people will think you're a poser. I use the literal same guitar for death metal, blues, and indie rock. and it's a Korean that i upgraded the electronics on with amazing tuning stability that i love. I dont even think /gg/ cares I think everyone is just depressed and likes shitposting. same thing with /meal/ calling everything soi. but I'm with you now, I retract my aggressiveness.
/gg/ still doesn't know that blues players are the most accepting of atypical guitars. the last blues jam i went to had old dudes playing ibanez prestiges and one middle aged guy on a schecter with SD blackouts. everyone was cool with it, most people were impressed. there were also a few mesa amps among the fenders and a jazz chorus.
it's metalheads who are narrow-minded mostly. >dude how are you gonna djent on that grandpa axe >where's your diezel hagen? randall satan? marshall? your amp is named after satan at least correct? this is not kvlt.
Chase Torres
Cut your nails you alien fingered freak.

Just hit them strings and compare sounds or play some super basic scale. No one will talk any shit. You wont get praised by the boomers but no ones gonna bat an eye at you.
I use the Ultimate Guitar app which has a tuner function. Kinda floppy but does it‘s job because my acoustic doesnt detune much.
Jace Cox
gstrings is pretty good
Daniel Carter
Man. ESP. Great stuff, right? Underrated guitars, right? They don't get enough recognition, right? No. Shit guitars. Neck through so if it's damaged you're fucked. Or bolt on, but now $4000 (for a basic strat !) because made in japan. Dumb shit like floyd roses on almost everything. Backwards headstocks. Poly finishes on guitars that cost more than $1000. Soulless, sterile active pickups and compressed hot humbuckers everywhere. Crap tonewoods. Sterile sounding stainless steel frets on a lot of shit (it's probably cheaper than real fret wire). Guitars that unironically lack tone knobs. And these days they won't even put their name on the headstock if it costs less than 3 grand, because they really want you to know they don't make guitars for poor people.
And who really plays them that's relevant? Two metal guys who actually record with gibsons.
warmer neck tone without having to fuck with signal processors to fix it
Anthony Watson
lets be real, the amount you need to move the pickup to accommodate 24 frets isnt nearly enough to have a significant impact on the le toan.
Hunter Fisher
t. talking out of his ass
Luke Harris
Oh boy here we go again!
Aiden Sullivan
who do i trust
you
or literally every other guitarist on the planet admitting that moving a pickup towards the bridge makes it sound brighter
Grayson Brooks
>significant impact yeah im sure moving the pickup a couple of centimeters will make your neck pickup sound like a tele. fucking retards. theres a knob called tone for a reason
Elijah Hughes
the tone knob doesn't do the same thing, harmonic content is an issue here. is a tone knob going to make picking at the bridge saddles sound like picking over the fretboard? no.
also half the 24 fret guitars don't even have that knob because it's only useful for jazz cleans and some tricks for people who can't afford pedals
Nathaniel Torres
>also half the 24 fret guitars don't even have that knob because it's only useful for jazz cleans and some tricks for people who can't afford pedals post a 24 fret guitar 2 pickup guitar without a tone knob
Wyatt Edwards
More common than you think. Removing the knob increases pickup output and makes you look like a real shred-head who doesn't need to cut any highs, if anything you want a mid scoop knob, but having a no-load pot on full is electrically identical to having no tone pot so...
Wyatt Price
>post a 24 fret guitar 2 pickup guitar without a tone knob All the Schecter KM models
wow it actually is a meme. imagine not using your tone knob
Colton Sanders
Very, very few people actually use the tone knob regardless of genre except for jazz cats, csguitars watchers, and unfortunate chinkplank owners struggling with excessively bright sounding plywood.
If you get one of these, does someone make a push/pull knob that's two in one, so instead of being a switch, pulling up disengages one wiper and engages another so only that one moves, and the other one stays where you left it?
It seems like a smart way to look like van halen without gimping your guitar
>inb4 concentric knobs
Ugly AF
Easton Taylor
Obviously was referring to specific brands, not parent companies and subsidiaries. Fender branded guitars are clearly aesthetically different from most EVH and Jackson models.
Lads, I played violin pretty seriously through high school and was pretty good. I quit because I wasn't interested in playing in college and I'm not all that into music with violins.
I tried to pick up the guitar a few years ago and lost interest in it in about two months. I've been feeling like picking it up again, any advice to make the learning process more fun or so that I don't quit after two months? I like a lot of guitar based music, but guitar just didn't stick with me.
Daniel Sanders
Get a 3/4 scale guitar, mod it to be fretless, then you'll be right at home
Christopher Lewis
Any tube amp in that range?
Nicholas Gutierrez
>Gibson tranny mad ESP fag copied him
What are you going to do sue him because he wont transition authentic?
Parker Rogers
I have a used low watt tube amp and and it sucks >sounding good >play for five minutes >sounding less good >lol time to pay the toob man I should have just bought an HD500 and a PA speaker. You can't tell the difference anyways.

If I actually look like an adult male am I cursed to play death metal riffs and blues licks forever?
Jayden Bell
you'll stay a virgin forever yes
Isaiah Bailey
What? How did I get my virginity back?
Alexander Mitchell
Well not technically forever. He'll die at some point.
Bentley Robinson
But playing blues licks forever is a good thing. I'd totally cum in this dude's ass though, he's pretty in makeup.
Dylan Anderson
he will still be a virgin after he's dead though
Gavin Jones
not if i have anything to say about it
Alexander Torres
Huh. I guess I was wrong. He will technically be a virgin forever.
Connor Moore
The weak indietrannies that say shit like that, play 9s or 10s or some other kid gauge on it. Fenders need 11s or 12s at least. Especially the short scale women guitars.
Jordan Fisher
is there a pedal that will make your guitar sound like its in a different tuning
Brandon Harris
Behringer Superfuzz
Christian Hernandez
my theory is that trannies are attracted to guitars with 3+3 headstocks in particular and brand has nothing to do with it
Oliver Lewis
pitch everything up or down, yes
for changing individual strings all I've heard of is Line 6 Variax guitars with the processing in the guitar for some reason
Christopher Gutierrez
well that explains martin guitars then
Kevin Parker
Wait if trannies paly 3+3 and sane people play 6 on one side then who plays headless?
Jack Young

which pedals change the pitch? idk what I'd even search for
Juan Smith

Landon Scott
Trannies are peak autism
Joseph Sanchez
Except testosterone creates bigger hands and the average size difference is so dramatic that feminists and trannies are currently saying that standards for piano keyboards are patriarchal and systematically exclude women from success and pushing for every guitar to be gibson scale.
Jordan Bailey
As another user mentioned, there are some niche guitars with one pickup per string that can sort of achieve this.
However, if you just want to up- or down-tune all your strings the same amount (like say to D standard or B standard), DigiTech's The Drop and Whammy DT can do a reasonable job.
Depends entirely on which 2 guitars you're talking about specifically.
Landon Morris
The 500 dollar guitar will have a better looking fretboard and won't look like rainbow colored flame maple tacky shit.
Hunter Ortiz
who here /gignight/
Diminishing returns start at 1500. Difference between a 500 and a 1500 guitar is better electronics/pickups, better attention to detail and quality control, better frat ends that you can't cut yourself on etc. Nowadays you can get a giggable, great sounding and decent quality guitar for 500, especially if you go used. 3k is boutique custom shop range.
Michael Jackson
What and where did you play?
Zachary Wright
The neck will need one less truss rod adjustment a year. It might not need any, because at some point necks start being made of three pieces of wood, and then five, and then eleven slabs of different tonewood with opposing grains, and then we decide that we're spending too much money on glue and have accidentally made people think plywood is a good tonewood, and stop making them out of wood entirely and move on to advanced tone-composites that look kind of like fiberboard but totally aren't. And before any of these points the guitar is just a very long neck with some wings glued onto it so it still looks like a guitar.
Or maybe the company decides to fuck with you and sells you a floppy one piece mahogany neck haphazardly glued in by a two inch tenon so it's like guitars haven't changed at all since the 60s.
It might not have a headstock. On purpose. No, nobody dropped it.
If it's a gloss finish it will be slightly less sticky. Or maybe it will be more sticky, that's authentic nitro for you.
If it has figured maple top, it will have more depth to it because the cut of wood is thicker. Or maybe it won't. QC is kind of spotty these days.
The inlays will be actual abalone or mother of pearl instead of plastic that is obvious when you get really close to it and probably won't be askew. Probably.
It might come with locking tuners. Might. No guarantee.
If it has a floating bridge it will be one of the good ones instead of pot metal shit that stops staying in tune after a year. But you should still lubricate it because it isn't perfect.
Brayden Hughes
but an $800 and $1500 guitar will have the same emg 81/85 or JB/jazz set 99% of the time
Joseph Scott
Yes and that's why good pickups on retail guitars start at 800, not at 500. You should always buy used anyway.
Evan Adams
no truss rod adjustments? take my money. those are impossible to get right.
Ayden Johnson
The guy has no idea what the fuck he is talking about, pretty much all instruments need truss rod adjustments if you change string gauge. If you want the most stability physically possible, go for graphite/carbon fiber necks but that is 4 or 5k territory of price range.
Mason Martinez
the best return is calling other people poor
>look at the S1 switch on my new strat. Now I have even more tones. >oh, i have a $5 mod that >POOR.
>I just bought a Gibson Les Paul. See it? >looks and sounds a good bit like my epiph >POOR.
>Do you like the palette of sounds offered by my reverb pedal >it's a bit silly, the normal reverb sounds are the only ones that are usefu >POOR
>I like my collection of fancy stompboxes. They make very interesting noises. >have you considered actually playing gutiar th >POOR.
Caleb Miller
Seconding the fact that the guy you're replying to has no idea what he's talking about. Take your guitar to a different climate and tell me it doesn't need a truss rod adjustment.
Cooper Nguyen
did you misquote there
Jaxson Adams
This, I took my boutique aluminium necked guitar from vegas to florida and it bowed severely by absorbing the local humidity.
You can't escape truss rod adjustments.
Daniel Jackson
>poorfags that don't own guitars made of arium detected
Benjamin Butler
imagine being so poor you can't afford a strat and an authentic les paul, the two most iconic gutiars ever made
Owen Johnson
Thinking of picking up a Mitchel MD400. Anyone have any experience with them? I tried it in store and it felt pretty sweet.
Blake Morales
So the PRS headstock is just a misshapen gibson headstock and the jackson dinky is a misshapen strat. You have to evade copyright to pay the bills.
Then a company called ESP copies the dinky and calls it the Horizon while hoping nobody notices, and sells it for slightly less than the dinky. Jackson loses the last of its customers. Surprise.
The factory that makes the cheaper gutiars for ESP happens to be making cheap guitars for PRS. One day a lazy worker accidentally glues a PRS neck to an ESP body. Schecter is born.
And then Mitchell makes a knock off of that in China for even cheaper. That's it's story.
Or you could get a job, buy a Gibson, and have a guitar with groundbreaking innovation, originality, and the American way as part of its heritage. Thank me later.
handmade vs cnc skin color and location of the person that made it pickups whether it has binding and inlays sometimes the wood can make a difference if it's something fancy like koa or flame maple how much they gave a shit about workmanship at the factory. (the worst guitar I have is a MIK squier that sucked from the factory, but is not bad after tweaking it all these years)

Who are the best guitar/music teachers you've come across? The best two I've come across are Steve Stine and and Jens Larsen, who have a way of breaking things down in an untimidating manner. I was a theorylet for years before I "obtained" Steve Stine's courses.
I used to before I realised that was mostly just marketing nonsense to sell you more guitars.
I have a couple of hardtail superstrats and I don't even play much metal. They're just comfy guitars with good, modern features that I can't find in all the traditional guitars companies like Fender and G&L offer.
Ryan Garcia
> singing teacher
I'd love to be able to sing better but I'm too shy to practice. This nigga is saying you need to make loud cat noises to sound like Chris Cornell but my neighbors already think I'm insane.
Thank you, accurate and unbiased facts. I cant justify spending more than 350 though. But give me a year and I'll go put down some good boy points and buy a Gibson because they are, quality guitars.
Logan Ortiz
Based, authentic post filled with heritage and pride
Ryan Martin
Maybe you should get a singing teacher. They won't teach you how to belt in classical, though.
Kevin Smith
why bother taking singing classes when it's all about SOUL?
What's your alternative plan to getting good, if not playing scales???? I mean you have one right?
Landon Ross
Pay now or pay later, if you don't stick with it, you'll get most of your money back on resale, if you do you'll want one eventually. This is a decent clone.
Ayden Cox
Whats good about it?
Daniel Perry
bot him but I think a great way to improve regarding scales is creating your own scales, it forces you to see the scales more deeply rather than just brainlessly playing a scale you do not know how to use
