I disagree with you

why is it only rock music?

>band

Also no. Priest, Maiden, and Motorhead, and Deep Purple cancel out four of those not named The Beatles Rolling Stones or Sabbath, take your pic.

Meh, I guess Zeppelin deserves it too even if I personally think they're song thieves who I don't listen to.

here u go

>likes Electric Wizard but not Black Sabbath
The absolute state of plebs.

That's the equivalent of thinking Zeppelin sucks but loving Greta Van Fleet or Wolfmother.

based retard who's only heard 10 good albums total and doesn't understand Electric Wizard

ummmmm hello?!?!

What's there to understand about a derivative tribute band put under a shallow "modern" filter

You're clearly one of those faggots that pretends to like metal but only listens to Black Sabbath and Burzum

When it comes to metal 90 percent of my music taste is within the 70's and 80's and trad is my forte, the other ten percent is split between the 90's and 00's. So no. I know far more about metal than you, and Electric Wizard is a bizarre band for you to make that flex over considering they were memed here by hipster non metal fans for years.

If Dopethrone doesn't stand out to you as anything but derivative then there's no way you've heard more than like 50 metal albums, it's near impossible to be this retarded.

Dopethrone is an album I phsysically bought years ago because of it being memed on this very board, them and that gay ass Cult Of Luna shit when this board was going through their "doom and sludge" phase as much as Billie threads are now rampant.

Cult Of Luna was always faggot shit, Dopethrone I admit was up my alley for a while but it wasn't long before the gimmick wore thin and I realized it was just a Wolfmother esque modern parody for Sabbath, and went back to listening to Sabbath instead. Doom outside of Sabbath is not my favorite stuff, but St. Vitus, Pentagram, Candlemass, Witchfinder General.....all classic "doom" bands I'd rather listen to than Electric Wizard who at this point have become a meme here.

If stuff like modern stoner doom and sludge and funeral doom doesn't do it for you, then it's pretty funny that "black sabbath ripoff" is your default association for Dopethrone. This is like someone who really likes TVU but hates noise rock, so they categorize stuff like Sonic Youth as a ripoff and everything else about their music just goes over their head.

The music doesn't go "over my head", like I said I owned the album among others of theirs and enjoyed it for a period of time.....to me though it just seemed so gimmicky, and anytime I put on their records I almost immediately got the "eh....now I wanna listen to Sabbath for real" feeling, and it's been years since I've listened to it after.

Yes it's more modern, but that's what I meant when I said a "shallow modern filter", it sounds modern but is really just trying to evoke Sabbath in spirit, which to me there is a difference between wearing your influences on your sleeve and seeming like a parody.

And in any case, the only reason I criticized you in the first place is because your post clearly stated that you think Electric Wizard is superior to Black Sabbath, which is just lol. I'll make the comparison again, imagine saying Wolfmother is better than Led Zeppelin...it's fine to like them, I like some highly derivative bands too...but I'll never say they beat out the guys who they got their style from.

gay

embarassing

not too bad

>someone with such unmetal taste is pretending to be an underground metal elitist because he likes Dopethrone of all albums while denouncing Sabbath
Leave the hall.

Paranoid is the worst classic Sabbath album desu

>falling for the London Calling meme

London calling is the best album up there..

And not one with Pink Moon.

Burial and MMT shouldn't be considered.

Fucking embarrassing thread holy fuck

It doesn't sound like Sabbath you fucking pleb. Sabbath wasn't even Doom and incorporated much more diverse in their music. They made melodic Heavy Prog that later on became Metal. They had variety. Dopethrone is just distortion and no songwriting ability. Listen to Sabotage if ya wanna be all special and discredit the popular Sabbath albums and realize how great they fucking were. and even their heavy stuff tramped over Electric Wizard any day. Go listen to real Rock, Metal, and music in general and stop worrying what a couple of anonyomous basement dwellers will think of your "taste".

this is a good thread. as well know Britain makes the best music.
