this is the greatest album ever made. side b is absolutely breathtaking.
This is the greatest album ever made. side b is absolutely breathtaking
But side A is hot garbage, except for the title-track.
I haven't heard side B I can never make it through the entire album.
>best Bowie album
yes
>best 70s album
nope, but is on the top 5
>But side A is hot garbage
And here im thinking Blackout is ones of his greatest compositions
me too bud
Easy 7/10 at best. Expand your taste.
"We love it!"
WE CAN BE NIGGERS
JUST FOR ONE DAY
sorry I'm not impressed by your mom-rocker, when you're no longer underage and grow some taste you will understand.
fuck off Scruff
>talks about good taste
>doesn't even post his "good" taste
every fucking time, never change reddit
Me on the right.
Bowie is literally mom rock faggot.
wrong! (Heroes is still pretty good though)
thinking you're above enjoying something just because it's popular is the ultimate cuck move. i'd rather hang out with fantano-bots than someone who unironically says shit like this (about Bowie of all people)
Heroes is a perfect album if you get rid of the title track.
God I'm so glad someone else loves Lodger as much as I do.
Glad im not alone
how can i not? it's impossible to single out stand out songs since every track is literally perfect & and they all flow so well together. Yassassin to you, fellow Lodger-appreciator!
even scaruffi gave it higher than a 7
Pic related is much better than Heroes and so is Low.
I’d argue that Low is objectively his best, though “Heroes” ties with Scary Monsters and Super Creeps for my favorite.
That pic is a big YIKES I always cringe as fuck.
Every song recorded for the Berlin Trilogy is peak Bowie desu, fucking criminal that the Rykodisc tracks weren't in the 2017 box set.
I thought Low had a better side b.
Beauty And The Beast and Blackout are two of the best tracks on here.
Who's this weirdo
Some singer Eno and Fripp hired
*blocks path*
>breathtaking
>Bowie made this entire album using real instruments
Honestly, that’s just impressive on a technical level, even if drum and bass isn’t your thing.
Low B-Side >>>>>>>> "Heroes" B-Side
I like the instrumentals, but the only 2 songs I like here are Blackout and Secret life of Arabia
>title track, golden years, stay and 3 other shitty songs
Yeah this is nowhere near Heroes or Low, it's not even better than Aladdin Sane
Low's B side is carried entirely by the vocal part of Subterraneans
Aladdin Sane is his worst 70s album tho
Young Americans is worse than Aladdin Sane though. At least Aladdin Sane had Cracked Actor and Time.
Aladdin Sane
Lady Grinning Soul
Time (could be considered the best Bowie song, Bowie had him in his personal top ten)
Panic in Detroit
Only the first track and the cover of Lets Spend the Night Together suck ass completely.
hey, i love my mom
Aladdin Sane is mostly just a more incomprehensible, shittier version of Ziggy Stardust. Young Americans is his second worst of the 70s, but Christ at least it wasn't as massive a disappointment as following up one of the most important albums of all time with a bunch of songs you wrote in a tour bus on coke.
We both forgot Drive-in Saturday. That’s another pretty great song.
>Young Americans is his second worst of the 70’s
Yeah, behind Pin-Ups
Pin Ups isn't a Bowie album in the same way Baal isn't a Bowie album. It's a cash grab and shouldn't be considered on the same tier as his actual work.
I wouldn't say it's the greatest ever but the title track is perfect, one of the best songs ever recorded
I never liked Heroes because of the yelled/straining his voice to the limit vocals.
Joe the lion alone makes this album perfect
>the cover of Lets Spend the Night Together suck ass completely
Terrible taste
It's a superior version of Ziggy Stardust with far better production, more experimentation, slightly more consistent song quality and without the campy concept
> far better production
lmao it sounds like it was recorded on a cassette recorder. The lyrics on half the songs are nearly incomprehensible.
>more experimentation
No, you're thinking of The Man Who Sold the World. Farting around on a piano and then doing a shitty Rolling Stones impression isn't experimental in any real sense.
>slightly more consistent song quality
It's got like maybe 3 songs worth listening to. Ziggy Stardust has maybe 2 songs that aren't.
>without the campy concept
It's literally "Ziggy Stardust in America". It's the exact same level of camp, just without the fun part that made that camp bearable.
Iggy Pop's backup singer.
>Only the first track and the cover of Lets Spend the Night Together suck ass completely
i'm not big on Watch that man, but the cover is brilliant
>twice as fast as the original
>Mike Garson's piano
>that fucking breakdown before the last minute encore
this is the greatest album ever made. side b is absolutely breathtaking.
I used to like Bowie until Heroes was used in that shitty reddit cartoon's ending.
my three favourite bowie (and imo his) albums are station to station, low and heroes. the order changes from time to time but it's definitely those three
based
Don't disrespect Word on a Wing and Wild is the Wind like that
>boasting about having shit taste
That one's shit though
