If you’ve been following any of the Die Antwoord drama, you know that they’re shitty people, no doubt about it.
This isn’t really an exception, what they did was shitty. But literally every single news source I've read on it has failed to report a part of the context of the situation, which just isn't fair.
Every news report implies or outright mentions that the part about Yolandi being sexually assaulted is fake, and that DA made it up.
But I mean, there's literally a video from the event, where the guy who got attacked is being interviewed, and he straight up mentions that his first and only interaction with Die Antwoord at the time was him coming up to them unprovoked and sexually harassing them. He straight up says that he went up to them unprovoked and started asking to put his dick in their face while they were eating breakfast. How on Earth is that not blatant supporting evidence that the dude might've actually sexually harassed/assaulted someone?
And the only person who claims the sexual assault was faked is the cameraman who filmed it, even though he himself was also participating in the supposed hate crime. The cameraman, Ben Crossman, is legitimately delusional and thinks that Die Antwoord is trying to possess him and send curses to him. It’s bullshit to take his word at face value because he’s straight up admitted that he edits all the videos before he releases them. People are getting worked up about him being called a faggot while ignoring literally all the surrounding context. I mean for fucks sake the video is very clearly edited, so it's not like we even have a full understanding of the actual fight.
