Theres not really anything metal about evanescence, it was part of the goth rock scene back in the late 90s but that style fell out of favor by the mid 00s

Evanescence was more mainstream metal than they were anything goth, outside of aesthetic. It was chugga chugga dumbed down nu metal shit and just mainstream simple power chord shit with a heavy pop filter since it was made for 12 year old girls, but if you listen to the guitar work I'd easily say it's some form of over simplified metal before anything "goth"

Effervescence is in the same category as Chavelle. It's a Tool-lite band from the 00's in response to Tool being faggots and never making a decent follow-up to Aenima. Her vocal range would never have become a thing in hard rock / metal if not for Maynard, who is just a vinegar salesman now leaving a vacuum.
