Girlfriend is breaking up with me so I need some big, sad, washed-out, heavy sounds to make things better. Looking for more like Cloakroom, Pelican, Russian Circles, Glassing, Taake, Alcest, etc. Looking for sad more than heavy but even something like Sumac or The Body would work

It seems like you're probably already familiar with The Angelic Process.
In case you're not - The Angelic Process.

Good call. I'd almost totally forgotten about this band

Yeah that's the mood for sure. Thanks for the suggestion

seems to be breakup season
hope you make it through alright

That's good stuff. Thanks

Thanks user. She's going to do what she wants, but if she leaves, I have to lose my dog too, so it's making this so much harder

Hum- downward is heavenward

That's a killer record

Yeah its my favorite hum album by far (no pun intended). Super underrated. Just picked up the vinyl reissue earlier this summer. If you are to bloom is such an important song to me. The whole album is really

I get that. The whole thing is incredibly dense - it's one of those records that you can physically feel when you crank it up

For sure, production is top of the line. Lots of people into hardcore and punk dig these guys and theyre really starting to gey their due. Ive found at least 10 bands who started in the last 3 years where hum is a major influence and ive just had a glut of hardcore/alt rock adjace albums that have been straight in my lane. 2018/19 has been the best for underground rock in a while. Very healthy scenes

If you've never listened to my OP before (Cloakroom - Time Well) you should give it a shot. It's an incredibly thick record with great production and atmosphere too. Seedless Star is one of the chunkiest bass tracks I've heard in my entire life

I actually dont like cloakroom, just doesnt have enough pepper in it for me and it bores me. Check out the sun son ep by this band out of body and the untitled ep by soul blind

I definitely understand - It's not for everyone. I'll check that out for sure. Thanks for the recommendation

ah shit, that sucks

Lesson learned I guess. She's coming by to get her stuff tonight and bringing the dog so I at least get to see her one last time.

This is rad. Thanks for the suggestion
