Surf-Rock is such a strange genre. It was fairly short-lived and was basically just a very specific sound that was a little offshoot of Rock music being played by guys with perhaps a bit more of a background in Jazz. I mean look at these guys, wearing suits at the beach? I bet they don't even surf themselves. Then you get a band like the Beach Boys who wrote songs about Surfing but hardly played what could technically be considering "Surf Rock" except for a few covers and instrumentals on their early releases. But who the fuck remembers any Surf Rock songs other than Misirlou?
