Only contrarians think this is bad. Melodically it's one of their best

I like it better when they do political messaging through dystopian futurism instead of just preaching

>making boomer music criticizing boomers
Stuff of genius

agree. they haven't made a bad album imho.

also agree.

>Only contrarians think this is bad

real Gizz fans trash this album

you don't have to like everything they put out you know

What political messages are there aside from plastic boogie?

fishing for fishies, cruel millenial

Only album of theirs that I cant find a single thing to dislike about it.

I thought alot of Gizzards early stuff is atrociously bad though.

"The Cruel Millennial" is more about Ambrose not being able to relate to people even slightly younger than him

I also think this is their best album. crumbling castle is amazing.

Flying Microtonal Banana will always be my favorite. I really enjoyed 12 Bar Bruise, what didn't you like about it?

Crumbling castle is insane, especially the live Version on KEXP.

I've decided to go to one of their shows this week.
Pretty pumped

this is the only album i've listened to in its entirety and it was so fucking boring
almost every song sounded the same

listened to FFF for the first time today and I enjoyed it. Very inconsistent in both quality and style but not bad. 6-7/10 would listen again.
while i disagree with you I understand why you might find it samey and boring. You should try one of their others though, I recommend either the first or the newest, both are kind of opposite to polygondwanaland

yeah actually I just relistened and you're right also I fuckin feel that fucking zoomers

DONT DO IT
YOU AINT GOD!

Have fun user, they're a great live band and they have lots of songs to pick from. Crumbling Castle and Nonagon Infinity stuff are always highlights.

Okay now that there's a King Gizzard thread tell me which of their albums are worth listening to.
A few of them are complete garbage like that Sketches album.
The only one that i know is good is Nonagon Infinity

Flying Microtonal Banana, I'm In Your Mind Fuzz are both good if you like Nonagon Infinity

Polygondwanaland is my favorite of their albums. If you like thrash you might like Infest the Rats' Nest. Nothing groundbreaking but definitely not bad.

It took me 2 years to get through Sketches, thought it was really boring shit, but now, man, i think its their 3rd or 4th best.

I just listened to it yesterday, and I wouldn't rank it that highly. It was good but a bit too twee for my tastes.

If you like Nonagon, Mind Fuzz and Rats Nest are both good and Murder of the Universe can be great if you don't mind the spoken word.
For more of a Prog rock sound, Polygondwanaland is great and Quarters or Microtonal might suit you too.
Fishies and Paper Mache are really chill but as OP said, great melodically.
IMO earlier albums are hit or miss, and Oddments/Gumboot Soup are B-sides with only a couple good tracks.
