How? Because USBM has proven to be over 90% garbage in its long history of failure from Weakling to Deafheaven and mediocrities like Krieg and Judas Iscariot. Yes, Wolves in the Throne Room released a couple decent albums, Absu was solid, Xasthur and Leviathan were actually good, but those were the exceptions that proved the rule.
Plus the band you linked is leftist. The vocalist and drummer were in a communist tier band that morphed into this, featuring lyrical gems such as:

I actually have high hopes. I didn't care for the Darkthrone album but Abbath's album was good, and with so many metal legends such as Possessed releasing an album this year, I feel like Mayhem will deliver quality. Most likely something that's not alike what they've done before
