Meteora

I haven't heard any Linkin Park since junior high school, but I decided to check out this album. Why did nobody tell me that Linkin Park secretly released a kino album? Get past the memes and the cheesiness and this thing is actually incredibly well made.

based

Yea Forums is too pretensious to admit that Meteora is a masterfully crafted pop ablum with an unique sound

God damn it everything that is mildly accessible and has catchy hooks isn't pop music you fucking pretentious faggots

>secretly
That's literally one of the best selling albums of the 2000s.

Linkin Park is pop. Let's be real with ourselves.

All music other than classical is pop music.

they are literally nu-mutal combined with hip-hop

If a best seller is good, then it's secretly good.

Meteora went seven times platinum. Of course it's pop, not in the genre sense, but at its core

>popular things bad

I'd say classical and jazz.

No kidding it's "pop" as in "popular". But when people on here say Linkin Park is pop they mean it in the genre sense. I've never heard a compelling argument as to why that would be the case.

there is literally nothing more normie than deep throating every piece of corporate schlock that comes your way

Can anyone recommend albums which sound similar? Despite being so angst-ridden it has this clean refreshing sound that no other nu-metal album I've listened to has.

>Beethoven's 9th symphony sold out concert halls in the 1800s. of course it's pop, not in the genre sense, but at its core

Being a normie is a good thing.

Beethoven's 9th symphony wasn't a series of 3-5 minute intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus-outro tracks.

Linkin Park is pretty unique IMO. There are other bands that, on paper, should sound the same as them, but nobody matches their exact swagger.

this but unironically. your precious classical can be popular too

Sometimes, sometimes not. It depends on how sick your society/civilization is.

Linkin Park is more alternative rock than nu metal in my opinion. Three Days Grace is not bad. I was 10 when Hybrid Theory came out, and most of the kids who were really with it ended up liking post hardcorish stuff that was about to hit.

if you're going to bother including jazz with classical you may as well go as far as to include so much more, but you wouldn't know that cos you're a jazz fucking IDIOT FUCK SHIT FUCKASS

Yo just get the fuck out of here.

Yeah, Three Days Grace's One-X is pretty samiliar as other user recommended, with the melodies and such.

Man with a Mission would say differently.

Any album recs?

Id have a look through all their albums because they are quite mixed.
The newer ones horizon/world on fire are produced by guys from zebrahead/fallout boy. The older ones mash up/purefly are more japan oriented.

You'll find something neat on every one though. They nail the 00s sound.

Linkin Park and 3DG were essential AMVcore
Mostly for guys though , girls preferred 2000's pop stuff while making AMV about their favorite "ship"

check out dead by sunrise's album

WAKE ME UP INSIDE

My Chemical Romance brought 2000s boys and girls together.

was thinking about this album last night, one of the first albums I bought (yes, bought) on CD. Beautiful glossy booklet with liner notes and nice gatefold case.

Good music too, introduced me to experimentation in music believe it or not. (Oriential sounds on Nobody's Listening, for example, and different vocal styles).

If Linkin Park's lyrics were less memey and cringey, they would be remembered as Beatles-like figures for their instrumental adventurousness.

Meteora ftw$$$$)-mi nIgg-A_pOO xxxD !! :)

>Meteora is only remembered because of JayZ

Imagine getting outsold by a guy talking over your music.

Jay-Z actually used to be a big artist before the Eskimos who run the entertainment industry decided to drop him. Why did that happen?

They usually either skip it or just replace it with a 15 second instrumental section. At least in their older stuff, I've never listened to their newer shit.
