Write a song

>write a song
>fucking hate it the next day

God dammit how the fuck will I ever complete an album

don’t make your lyrics personal, make them nonsensical l. focus more on the instrumentation

>le lyrics don't matter xD

what if i write an instrumental i love, then the next day i fucking hate it

If you love your work and think its uncla see dx

they don’t ultimately

>le lyrics matter xD

write...better...songs..........

You’re not trying to find out why it sucks, you just discard it and do the same thing again

>semen stains the mountain tops
They really fucking don't

if you're a perfectionist, you have to learn to impose strict time limits on yourself for when a piece will be considered complete and you move on to the next. from there, it becomes a matter not of thinking "is this song great" but rather "how does this piece rank against my others". you present to the world your best of the lot, and if they flop, then you just have to accept that's the limit of your talent.

Cherries pick the mountain tops

write instrumental songs and just hum a lyrical pattern over them
then fit lyrics into that

Let's hear it

I'VE GOT A BIKE YOU CAN RIDE IT IF YOU LIKE

You can at least reply you dumbass

Just turn 360 and walk away from the song. Come back in a week and relisten with a fresh mind adjust and change what you don’t like. No song will be perfect so just finish it you pussy, also most musicians will make way more music than goes on the album, just create and finish then pick the best ones

ITAOTS is a very lyrically heavy album you fucking retard, without them it'd be jeff strumming 4 open chords every song on top of horns

and that's why it sucks

have started experimenting with this it weirdly works better than trying to write lyrics out. I wonder how many artists have done this

Red Hot Chili Peppers would always do their instrumental first and then make up lyrics to go with the rhythm, which is why there are so many great hooks in their songs

Lyrics are the lowest aspect of music and anything that isn't written on the fly, 5 minutes before recording is guaranteed to be narcissistic garbage.

This is not unusual at all. No musician since ancient greece has ever started a song with the lyrics wtf

Make a happy fast tempo punk song with "I just came all over your face, and I'm not sorry" x2 as the main chorus.

I usually start with that and end up with something wildly different.. like it develops a plethora of fun and imaginative ideas

You'd be surprised, Sweet Child o Mine by Guns n Roses was a poem combined with an instrumental.

I don't see how lyrics are hard to write. Some of the best songs of all time had their lyrics quickly scribbled down and off to put music to it.
I think you're over thinking it. Even if the lyrics don't look good on paper they might work well to music.
Here. Here's some lyrics I've been bouncing about an hour earlier:
Telephone Scammers
Email Spammers
People that go door to door: Labour Service demanders
Scum of the earth that prey on the old and the weak
Working tirelessly for the quick easy buck every week.

You deserve a fate worse than death, you guiltless cads,
Deserve to be strung up and have tortured nads.
You think theres no other option, no alternative way.
Believing that westerners don't deserve their pay.

One old lady here, a disabled man there,
Pressurise them for kindness spare.
And fill them with despair.
Heartless creatures with faceless features,
Greed your idol
Shun your bible.
Morality is subjective its true but we all can agree.
Nobody would truly miss you, your judgement handled mercilessly.

Look at roger waters over here

Just keep going. Not everything you write will be good.. its a matter of time and persistance.. i myself cringe tf out at my own work while others find it to be good. You have too keep in mind that others dont view your own music as you do

they have to just be vague and artistic enough so that people can put their own emotions into it. most of the best musicians treat lyrics as the least important facet.

made me lol
