Bruce can legit sing, but I've never cared for his tenor singing. He sounds better when he keeps it lower. He's not as bad as the guy from Dream Theater, but he just doesn't have a good quality across the octaves he's capable of. His lack of training probably has a lot to do with that.
I don't hate the guy tho - when he was young he had a hell of a voice - loud as fuck, power, and he had a huge range that he tried to use, but he got that air raid siren effect in the upper registers - loud, but kind of annoying at times. One of the top tier frontman, period, he's got nothing to regret or be ashamed of.

Power metal vocals are pretty much the worst vocal style in metal. It's much too feminine, and I hate women.

I saw Dream Theater on the Images and Words tour, I thought LaBrie was gonna pop a blood vessel, he was straining so hard. His face was bright red, and he was visibly straining hard to hit the notes. He has no real power to his voice. He's great in the studio, but live, he just fucking sucked. One of the worst vocal performances I've ever seen, I honestly felt worried he was gonna hurt himself.
