Why does Radiohead get so much hate on this board? And to those who hate Radiohead, why?
Why does Radiohead get so much hate on this board? And to those who hate Radiohead, why?
i like their music but thom has proven himself to be a faggot
>thom has proven himself to be a faggot
Can you elaborate? I don't pay attention to band drama
For oldfags it's because people have been talking about them for ages. It's been done to death. I doubt many people actually dislike them that much
For newfags? Who the fuck knows? They're just aping the others to fit in I guess
mu used to like radiohead but now apparently it's cooler to be an edgy contrarian
it's just his political leaning really. open boarders, mass immigration, etc
I've always liked their sound, particularly I think they had some really good textures going on Kid A, but I don't relate at all to their atmosphere and I don't find their songwriting to be anything special. I don't hate them I guess, they're just very much not my thing
it's just zoomer hatebandwagon, they used to be the most discussed band on Yea Forums so haters think they are gonna get some attention at shitting on them constantly
Why would you ask the same question twice? Why would you write two questions asking the same thing but phrased differently?
Yeah that and this meme of being individualized. Zoomers try so hard to feel special and unique.
Negative XP said they're gay in a stream and that Creep is their only good song.
I don't know ok, the second one was more personal I guess.
this, I also find thom's singing a bit off-putting
Are you retarded? The first question is asking the whole board why there are so many Radiohead haters among them and the second is specifically asking the Radiohead haters why they hate them.
I don't know. Personally I don't like them, but that's it. My only gripe with them is they made Kraftwerk do a opening act for one of their concerts, but that's it.
I have never been able to get through OK computer or Kid A.
The bends was alright
Creep is unironically my favorite Radiohead song
I stopped trying to listen to their new stuff because it all is so dreadfully boring.
I don't hate them. Jonny is a great musician, Kid A is a great album, Thom has a nice voice, good band overall...
However, OK Computer is, without any shadow of doubt, the most boring piece of shit I have ever listened to and I can't understand why some people seem to think like it is the greatest album ever made, and I hate their fanbase a little for overrating OK Computer so much
They're played out
The board isn't a fucking hivemind you mouthbreathing cretin. The reson "Yea Forums" hates radiohead is the collective reasons of the indoviduals that OP is asking. The two questions are functionally the same.
>expecting to be Radiohead haters all over this thread saying how much they suck
>they actually aren't here
huh, the hatebandwagon finally ended?
no, they are just in school
listen to okc again
wait until the night user, they might come here and start to spam le ebin cat pic with "radiohead sucks"
The fuck you talkin bout, summerfags should be all over this thread
Already have. Still boring
I liked Kid A on first listen, same with Amnesiac and The Bends, but Ok Computer is awful
I agree all of Radiohead's stuff is boring but it hits hard in certain moods
>Negative XP
literally who
The hate he has towards hendrix is absolutely hilarious
explain
>be a normal dude who really likes radiohead
>listen to people call them the greatest most experimental band ever
>call them out on their bullshit and give them examples of better and more experimental bands
>get called a contrarian
>this happens hundreds of times
>start losing any emotional connection to radiohead because you don't want to have a deep connection to something so accessible
>as a result you discover that their music is actually really predictable and stale
>hate radiohead
>despise radiohead
>this happens hundreds of times
no it doesn't
Reddit humor. It's summer you fucking imbecile
>hating x band because people enjoy it
the state of this board is depressing
It just did
>implying the rest of the world has the exact same time of vacations as USA
Based brainlet
Air is a better psuedo 90's band
The artist that you've been shilling these past couple weeks
Dunno, i love them
You're better off listening to Stereolab. They do everything Radiohead do but without the pretentious moping.
>pretentious
here we go
I find their albums boring. They have a few good songs, though.
>implying Stereolab isn't as pretentious as Radiohead
based idiot
Radiohead are cold and calculated while Stereolab are warm and playful. Both acts have similar influences, so it's weird seeing how differently they present themselves.
>start losing any emotional connection to radiohead because you don't want to have a deep connection to something so accessible
Jesus Christ you’re insufferable
aw fuck ive been figured out i gotta get the fuck outta here
because they are the most overrated band of all time
wtf thats not Queen
melodic suspense and relief
there is none with radiohead
it's like dreamy slow shit i'd listen to in the background of spyro the dragon
I'll take bombastic and pretentious over atonal and pretentious
Not many people hate Radiohead here, It's just that contrarians are very vocal towards any band here. There are still daily threads about which album is their best. Also, there are the fans that bait other fans. Aside from all that, Thom's political learning clashes with that of most people here, so people progressively start to hate on anything he takes part in. Congratulating Billie Eilish didn't help his popularity here either.
>>listen to people call them the greatest most experimental band ever
Radiohead blew a lot of people's minds with Kid A because they put music that was decidedly more experimental in front of the mainstream. This was the year 2000, most people had the internet but finding new music to listen to wasn't nearly as easy as it is today. The bandwidth to stream high quality music on demand wasn't quite there yet. Napster was a year old but you had to know what you were looking for, most just pirated stuff they already knew about.
The band caught national attention after winning the Grammy for OK Computer and all eyes were on them to see what they would follow it up with. When Kid A dropped nobody knew what the fuck to make of it. Big release, heavily promoted, buy it, slap it in your Discman(TM) and wonder just what the hell you've purchased. Some people outright hated it, but a lot liked it even if they couldn't articulate why. Amnesiac followed this up with more of the same sound, venturing off even further into the realm of the experimental IMHO.
The most experimental band ever? Definitely not, but they did have the guts to bring something wildly different to the table as follow-up to an album that was at the time almost universally praised. That's what a lot of people know them for.
That's not The Beatles
they are a great band but very hyped
Because Radiohead fags hate on everyone else
nobody except faggot pseuds actually goes to radiohead for their "experimentality", people like them because of the tone and emotional message of their work
pic reminds me of tuesdays with stories.
>AAAAAH..
>...YEAAAAAAAH
I remember when we used to slurp Thom's cum off the floor. What happened
I like Radiohead a lot, but I think a lot of people blow them out of proportion. They're good, but they're not the second coming of christ. Sometimes Thom's lyrics can come off as sounding lame as hell and he has to rely on Jonny to make the song listenable.
bump
dont hate them theyre just overrated
