HOW

>music can't evoke subconscious ideas
hmm, incorrect

all music is surreal. literally the only albums that aren't surreal are field recordings

can you please shut the fuck up

you don't think some aspects of music are a part of the human experience and therefore are made real through existing in our collective consciousness?

>collective consciousness

I'd say this album is pretty dream like. Even though its moreso themed on memory, still very surreal.

For anyone unfamiliar, this absolute gem is:
an empty bliss beyond this world by the caretaker

Ulver - Bergtatt

Might as well add his entire discography, really. The Everywhere at the end of time series is a slow-burning rollercoaster

After posting that up there I was just looking at his discography and found out about that series. Sounds like it'd be a goddamn amazing listen in its entirety. But in reality ill probably only be able to listen to it in sections.

oh well at least I'll get to live it when i'm older

Arthur Russell - World of Echo
Paavoharju - Yha Hamaraa
Ground Zero - Revolutionary Pekinese Opera ver. 1.28

Seems more angular and abstractly technical than surreal

Just my opinion, but from what i remember Campfire Songs is more surreal. Its a distillation of summer nights and in that way its very dream like to me. It captures the essence while still being somewhat ephemeral imo.
been a while since i gave either a listen though
