any love for this album here? really eerie black/death metal with occasional gothic undertones that compliment the heavy sections really nicely
Any love for this album here...
No. Well there’s one ok track. But I love the pictures. There’s that one of one of them getting out of a car, a woman is holding the door open for him and he looks really nervous. He looks like he is very unconfident around women.
It's not bad, but they got a lot better later, especially on Words that Go Unspoken.
i have a feeling that might've been the album after this one, could be wrong tho
yeah that one is also extremely good, albeit for somewhat different reasons
TITTIES
nice titties
>I CAN HEAR YOU CALLLIIIIING
>I CAN HEAR YOU CALLLIIIING MEEEEE
Saw them live a few weeks ago. Absolutely phenomenal. Renaissance In Extremis completely BTFO everything that came before it though.
I much prefer Anti-Christ and Words that go Unspoken but theres couple of good tracks on this record.
I think your right. My bad.
My favorite album of theirs
Love these guys.
Check out their previous band Salem Orchid if you haven't yet.
Yeah, initially I was annoyed that nearly all the black/death metal was gone on Renaissance In Extremis, but the solos are so good on that one and I like the idea of a prog metal band without a typical prog vocalist.
also theres always Voices and The Antichrist Imperium both of which many of the same dudes as Akercocke and similar in sound.
Yep, definitely suggested for fans of older Akercocke who weren't big fans of their change in sound.
>Ackercocke
Opeth for redditors
that was me pretty much. Renaissance in Extremis is solid, songwriting is still there and they have always been great musicians but I miss that darker approach.
That said the latest Voices album is far less heavy than London. Still great but definitely a more somber less violent record than I expected
Are you implying opeth isn't a reddit band?
>Renaissance In Extremis
Ehhh Jason's clean vocals took a dive but overall the album is phenomenal.
Akercocke is S-tier black metal. Choronzon is my all time favorite album, and Levianthan is a classic.
>SUNRISE IS HOURS AWAAAAAYYYYY
>PRECIOUS SECONDS OF LIIIIIGHT...DRIFT AWAY
I remember of the band members would pm you if you listened to their albums on last.fm. I thought it was weird.
nevermind I'm thinking of a Russian Black Metal band with a similar sounding name
I have nothing to add other than Akercocke are fucking based and really underrated.
Opeth is Opeth for redditors. Redditors haven't even heard of Akercocke
Axiom best song
The drumming on Leviathan is god-tier. Crazy catchy track for a 7.5 minute track with plenty of black/death metal parts.
Yeah, the new Voices surprised me too. But then their is Antichrist Imperium and I'm 99% sure that band will never get softer.
