Confield is babby's first abstract bleep bloop
autechre tourists will listen to literally only amber and tri rep and say damn I love ae
>Confield is babby's first abstract bleep bloop
agreed. it's also Autechre best album and one of the best in the entire genre.
It's fucking annoying.
Just because after Tri the lads started to focus more on rhythm than melody they pretend everything everything after 97 is non-music for robots
Parhelic Triangle scares me. Can never listen to the full song because I feel myself going insane
Pre/Commers will destroy 94 diskont tourists. Most abstract oval albums will.
youtube.com
bump
Draft is better.
Behold the ULTIMATE tourist filter: Vorak's "Triumph of the Will"
haven't heard it but the rym reviews for this are hilarious
IDM as a whole is a tourist genre
>t.
>Confield is babby's first abstract bleep bloop
That's not Untilted
Not an argument
IDM is objectively shitty "music" anyway so who cares
Fuck you stupid cunt
>hey, this album is great and considered a classic!
>people recommended as one of the first things to listen from genre
>20 years later
>lmfao stop listening to the first record I've listened to from this genre, it's babby's first _____
>dude coins on a glass plate lmao
>dude ear bleeding high frequency sines lmao
>dude tube noises lmao
Fuck no. I like every ae album to varying degrees but that one.
why do you have pictures of young boys saved?
I feel like Confield is Autechre's most overrated album. To this day it's still hailed as though it's their most technically complex, well composed, or sonically adventurous album, even though its been eclipsed in all these qualities by later albums (Exai, Draft 7.30, and Elseq, respectively.)
I think the reason it's so well regarded is because it exhibits the most drastic break from the conventions of dance music, which were adhered to, even if only tenuously, in earlier albums. Although their subsequent work would become increasingly innovative and idiosyncratic, this continuous departure from popular idiom had become expected, and no project ever really usurped Confield from it's critically enshrined reputation as the most "abstract and alienating electronic album ever made."
By this point, we're all familiar with the type of person who listens to Tri Repetae or Incunabula and claims to be cultured, but far more common are the ones who listen to Confield, ignoring both their earlier and their later work (as well as the work of other experimental electronic musicians), and act as though it remains unsurpassed.
None of this is to say that Confield is a bad album; it isn't - in fact, it's a masterpiece unto itself. I'm just tired of people acting as though its the end-all-be-all of experimental electronic music.
This album got me out of genre tourism.
thats a tourist album though
Chiastic Slide is a better filter
huh? it's very accessible
It's the lowest rated on rym of their early albums despite being their best
I can't believe you like Untilted and Draft 7.30 if you don't like Confield. Draft itself of a deconstruction of Confield
>Draft itself of a deconstruction of Confield
How so? Not disagreeing with you, just genuinely curious.
Based
XD bro you powned him so hard
why are you pretending to be someone else?
