you need to install a vinyl version of Windows first

just put magnetophon to your speaker and record it you dummy

Hold your phone up to your turntable and record it.

unfunny

scan the record and convert the jpg to mp3

buy a vinyl drive with built-in stylus

Why doesn't anybody offer a service where you bring in your vinyl and they rip it for you for a modest fee?

Patch the line out of your receiver into the line in on your soundcard using a RCA to 3.5mm cord. Set your line in so the loudest part of the record won't clip. Record using audacity. Export to FLAC / OGG / AAC / MP3

by plugging a turntable into the line-in jack in your pc and recording with audacity

Creating any copy of a copywrited material except for archival purposes is illegal in burgerland

I'm well aware of that, and that doesn't change what I'm proposing.
>bring in your vinnil
>they rip your vinnil, give you back your vinnil and the digital copy (your "archival" version)
how is that illegal.

It's a PERSONAL backup. Just like if I mill out an AR lower receiver for a friend we've both committed felonies. Must be done personally.

how does a needle scratching a disc produces sound?

through electromagnetic friction

It's not scratching a disc. The grooves on a record are actually a spiral shape that leads to the center of the record, like a track. The grooves are like valleys. The walls of the valleys are textured a certain way. The needle follows the grooves like a track, and the textured walls cause the needle to vibrate. The tone arm amplifies the vibration of the needle into sound. The technology is fucking incredible.

How does a laser burning pits in plastic produce sound?

The easiest way is to get a turntable that has a USB output on it. An AT-LP120USB is what I use sometimes.

You still don't get my point, dumbass. Fuck you.

I've hear audio technica tables are all shit, is that true?

Audiophile elitists justifying wasting thousands on their sound systems is all that is. Although there are indeed better tables out there, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the mid range to higher end audio technica. Even the LP60 is fine, used it as my first table and ripped some vinyls with it, it was just fine

i laughed

This.

Break off parts of the record (In order) and put them in your cd drive. Then rip them with whatever cd ripping software you use.

>Even the LP60 is fine
Depends on the music you wanna play on it. Stuff like noise lathes have tendencies to choke on it and not play or skip. Generally it's fine though, yeah.
What I find more important is the preamp and the needle, because loud surface noise triggers the shit out of me.
