Change my mind.
Rap is more interesting and innovative than Rock

This doesn't happen on Yea Forums.
Hip-hop is yet to release something as good as Strawberry Fields Forever.
what happened to him, Yea Forums?
Nigga please.
ah yes nothing more innovative than samples from old soul or funk records
Based rap lover, fuck rock music.
If you consider gradually abandoning the art of playing musical instruments for the sake of using computers to produce sounds and rhythms as innovation and interesting, then i suppose so?
My issue with rap is the issue I have with the singer-songwriter taken to a further extreme: lyrical content becomes as important, if not more important, than the musical composition. Which i suppose is "fine", but at what point do we retrograde the concept of musicianship while still retaining the "music" label?
If you consider the dismantling and decay to be interesting and innovative for an art form, then i suppose that's your prerogative. I certainly don't share it.
I'd say things but I'm just gonna be told take it to /pol/
It's almost like you KNOW you belong on /pol/
Got married and had a kid way too young. Wasn't hungry long enough. They should hold off until 40 like Kanye did, and then fall off also like Kanye did.
you could've set the bar higher on that one, chief

this is why white people love Kanye so much. He does the opposite of this because he knows he can't rap for shit
Don’t think that’s possible. Considering it was never matched by ANY contemporary artist and rock music went downhill after the 60s
*Blocks you're path*
>fall off also like Kanye did
Kids See Ghosts, Daytona, ye, and The Life of Pablo would like to discuss with you.
Yeah its been that way since the 90s
I love metal though, don't consider that rock
That song was surpassed many times in the 60s alone.
Are wiggers the lowest form of life on this planet?
When was the last time a rapper actually played an instrument in one of their songs?
No, incels are.
No, that would be people who think that the Beatles are the greatest band of all time.
Except the last remotely interesting and innovative rap album was Yeezus, which released 6 years ago. Rap is as dead as rock nowadays it's just somehow more braindead and easy to consume so that's why it's still popular.
Your brain is smaller and can only appreciate simple rhythms and melodies
They indeed are.

Atm yes, but that album is a bad example. White rappers like BONES are driving the innovation
Hip Hop is so anti innovation that now most of the popular freshman artists of the last few years have all basically been the same person.
It holds attention better for sure, and is more modern, but there's something about the time that goes into learning how to play an instrument that makes other genres different than rap and electronic music.

I am a fan of both, far bigger rock fan though, and I will not try to change your mind I'll just tell you that you're WRONG.
The album you POSTED isn't even innovative enough to come up with an original term.....ESHAM coined the term "Acid Rap" for his style in the 90's, this is how non innovative rap has become, because the sad truth of the matter is most rap fans do not know a lick of history about the genre they're a fan of. I know way more about rap than any rap fan I've ever met, and I'm someone you look at and would immediately know is more of a rocker.
Your momma don't dance and your daddy don't rock n roll
Cringe zoomer thread, have a (you)

repeat, and have a highschooler rhyme over it. For 30 years. Such innovation.
In the 10s yes
All time, no
Ps Chance is wack
art is *all* about redefining borders. why should music be any different?
it embarrasses me that y’all care about that so much

You need to go back
rap relies on sampling instead of new instrumentation. it's a genre literally based on taking already existing work and modifying it. not using real instruments inherently kinda limits it and makes it too easy for people to just be lazy instead of innovating.
rap doesnt require any practicing, you just come up with words

>eternally written in 4/4
>all artists lie in their songs
>hurka dhur i am tough and strong and shoot gun
>muh drugs are epic
>listened to by huddlums and ghetto dwellers or pretentious white wiggers
Yep, rap is fucking trash
Christ
Compose a mini symphony like Yes or make a masterpiece dramatic record that transcends time like King Crimson. Or at least make some fun Pop like Genesis. Or ya know, play an instrument.
atrocity exhibition*
>this boy band that was only popular because chicks wanted to fuck them is the best band
even the fucking backstreet boys have better music sit your stupid ass down.
embarrassing
learn theory pseud
Pop-Trap is.
Your pic is unrelated.
Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug are creative monsters though
And while we’re at it pet sounds sucks because all Brian did was sing and bring in studio musicians
Was always cornball. Just took everyone a few albums to realize it
