Neutral Milk Hotel - All i've heard is in the aeroplane over the sea and I love it but I just haven't listened to more.
My Bloody Valentine - I'm starting to listen to shoegaze and I definitely think I have to have more appreciation for them.

Slanted and Enchanted is shite fall worship
DN is a very overrated album, give A Thousand Leaves and Evol a go before you dismiss them
Neu! and Neu! 75 are great, but their best stuff is as Harmonia when they pair up with Cluster; Musik von Harmonia is some of the best krautrock out there, obviously heavily inspired Eno too
The Strokes are for people who haven't heard any Lou Reed or Television and can't handle any complexity in their music
Is sure as fuck is how it works, music is a social experience of enjoying criteria in music, whether you realise it or not. A general consensus is just that, a consensus not a hard and fast rule, but a lot of people liking something is indicative of quality
