How many songs on an album have to suck for an album to stop being considered a good album?

If a third of the songs are not good, it's not a good album.

More than a half

If all of the songes on the album are bad, the album is not considred a good album

Depends on how many songs are on the album......DUMBASS.

But yeah I'd say once you get to the point that you don't like half of the songs, you can't say you like the album.

Depends on how good the songs that don't suck are

>trying to break down album quality to a formula
umm, no sweetie. we think critically here on Yea Forums.

If even one song on the album isn't good despite there being some good songs, it's not a good album.

unironically this

my metric is an album is allowed 2 shit songs or its not great. more than half is trash tier. ive thrown out physical CDs because they have only 1 single wong worth keeping, ergo its a travesty just own it

anybody else delete half the songs on shit albums and turn them into really good EPs?

>listening to songs
There's your first problem. Songs are the lowest form of musical composition. Listen to string quartets and piano sonatas so you won't have this problem.

unironically this

What if it has 5 songs.

Any more than 2 skips is too much

5/3 songs.

Many Grooves of Babara Lewis have two bangers that clock 2.5 min each, I think the album is a keeper because of how good 5 min of it is.

It really depends.

If an album has one song that is really good then it's better than most albums so I wouldn't really call it bad.

more than 2 unless it has like 30 songs

All these fucking dichotomous retards ITT.

It obviously depends on a number of things. How bad are the tracks that suck? How good are the tracks that don't? How long are the tracks that suck? How long are the tracks that don't? How many tracks are on the album? Are the tracks that suck bad only on their own, or also in the context of the album? Do the tracks that suck hamper the album as a whole?

Fuckfaces.

I have over 60 playlists that are "revised" versions of albums. Removing bad tracks, adding good B-sides, reordering the track list etc....

It's nice, glad to see I'm not alone.

get the fuck out classicalfag your music is no better than a well composed pop album, each one is a craft in of itself
Any dumbass can learn grade 5 music theory and have an idea of what's going on in instrumental classical music, unless we're talking the baroque, romantic or 20th century eras where some experimentation was taking place. the classical era was as stale as the homogeneous top 40 pop scene of today

your anger is appreciated, this board is going downhill and more elitism and ferocity is needed to get back a culture on this board which isn't full of le subjective fags touting their shit taste

10%
good albums have no songs that suck, just songs that might be weaker but still remain unskipable

>Fuckfaces
go back to twitter, tranny

>your music is no better than a well composed pop album

What's it like being an incel?

Depends. Maybe half of the songs are really short and suck but the rest is amazing. Would that be a good or a bad album?

String quartets and piano sonatas are naturally limited in their instrumentation. Rejecting modern tools because you don't like current music is folly. The patrician choice is classically trained musicians composing rock and electronic music.

>composing
>electronic music

>le meme frog! xD
You can compose music for literally any instrument or no instrument at all. If you can play regularly spaced notes, you can compose.

One.

One.

>The only era of western academic music that was as bad or worse than western popular music was the classical era, and I think this defeats your argument even though you literally never even mentioned a specific era!
We got some big brains on here tonight!
