I'm listening to Malory youtube.com/watch?v=nLvO2ZA6KaY
Here is a collection of Sweet Trip's loosies and compilation appearances, including tracks from the band members' Soundclouds. Thanks nice shugazi general user!
I don't give views to shit like Taylor Swift, but are you saying that song sounds like Mazzy Star and Mojave 3?
Jack Brown
y'all folks got any suggestions for dubby shoegaze like seefeel that isn't bowery electric?
Nathaniel Myers
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I also think that giving your 1 (literally one) view to this mainstream demon is a fair price for finding out if I'm right.
>I also think that giving your 1 (literally one) view to this mainstream demon is a fair price Out of principle, no. But nothing stopped me from checking out a lyric video from some random shitty youtube channel. And yes, it was very Mazzy Star/Mojave 3 like. So much in fact, both bands should think about a lawsuit.
Justin Powell
It's in the OP...
Nicholas Lopez
None of those links are in flac?
Oliver Smith
Bruh...You literally can't hear the difference between 320 and flac.
Jackson Hernandez
They're both cute Breakfast Club is such a cool film I first watched it at 13 and watched it again a month ago it's still good
Samuel Richardson
Nice. I thought Weather Diaries was good, but Tomorrow's Shore was really excellent.
>Velocity : Design : Comfort >You Will Never Know Why How can any other band compete?
Lincoln Butler
I don't like the first one
Juan Green
i want to cuddle in bilinda butcher's arms so bad (any era) the world spins is my favorite track off this album gerogerigegege's hell driver unknowingly samples the first track off this as well
Anyone who have heard this? It's Rachel Goswell and her husbands project. I also see that these motherfuckers have stolen my shoegaze band name for one of their songs.
for some reason I forgot this album existed. Do yourself a favor and listen to Kairon; IRSE Also can anyone rec experimental stuff similar to velocity : design : comfort? pref japanese
Yeah, sometimes the Spotify interface really stinks
Kayden Reyes
Beach House is my favorite band of the century so far and I love Blonde Redhead and MBV and Cocteau Twins and shit but what else should I be checking out?
Well if you honestly haven’t listened yet. >My Bloody Valentine - Loveless >Slowduve - souvlaki space station Others that may appeal to your prog tase >Stereolab - Dots and Loops >Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space >Spacemen 3 - The Perfect Prescription
Nolan Campbell
>that cute girl just smiled at me >better not talk to her Based. Did that today, yesterday, and the day before, all with the same girl who works in the same building as me.
Julian Jackson
I want to dance to Kitchens of Distinction as I'm shitposting right now, so maybe them?
Sebastian Parker
wtf this is actually good
Joshua Diaz
eh i'm on the fence on this one, i quite liked future love but the other 2 follow up singles kinda killed my interest
Joshua Hall
give me music similar to this i cant get enough of this album
Can anyone please post that image of the shoegaze vs dream pop girl? The one where it's two pictures of the same woman side by side, and in one of the pictures she has no makeup and scraggly hair and in the other one she's all dolled up? Similar concept to ? That one, thanks.
>FLAC have better sound. >Plays MUH FLAC music on my made in china speakers.
Robert Price
Not very much
David Taylor
I'd classify them as run of the mill alternative rock with electronic influences, a la new order. but it's been ten years since I last listened to them so I have not a good enough recollection of their music to make an informed judgment
Adrian Wright
Oh, okay. They just gave me that Sweet Trip vibe and thought it was gazi enough.
Daniel Howard
great album, on the precipice between blackgaze and actual shoegaze. title track saves me from suicide
Dominic Campbell
This general feels like old pre 2013 Yea Forums. Thanks for the comfy place to crash guys
Brayden Brown
Source?
Camden Davis
What albums besides Lazer guided melodies are shugazi?
Andrew Williams
blackgaze. start with sunbather i’d prefer to have all my music in FLAC but I like being able to listen with my ipod classic
Xavier Jones
This is boring as fuck. Why does anyone care about this?
Haven't checked this one in a long time (because I've already listened to almost all the albums on it) and started to wonder if this was a new updated one I didn't have because it had Ujabasajuba on it. Then I realized it was released in 2014 and I remembered in early 2015 trying to search for it on spotify during a pre-party.
Fuck, time really flies
Joshua Gray
yo la tengo is so good man, especially when they did into shoegaze a bit more. Those tracks you posted are some of the best. And Then Nothing... is still one of my absolute favorite albums to have a nice summer, night walk to. It captures that feel just a little too well
Juan Green
So I tried many times to get into Loveless but I never was able to actually "get" it until I finally listened to the You Made Me Realize EP. I don't know why but listening to Loveless again after that everything just clicked.
Grayson Barnes
Let me guess, your your favourite songs on Loveless is NOT Only Shallow, When You Sleep or I Only Said?
All right. Personally Loveless clicked with me as soon as the snare drum kicked in in Only Shallow when I heard it the first time 11 years ago. My belief is that if those three songs I mentioned aren't your favourite it wasn't instant love from the get go. Great album
It has a few good tracks, but is forgettable overall yeah. I think people loved it because it was total MBV worship, but there are bands doing that better nowadays too
Cameron Jones
The cover looks quite interesting, what am I getting into?
Oliver Green
Fantastic band who don't get nearly enough praise. And Never Pull is a great song
John Butler
Relatively boring fans of MBV. Tone Bender and Threw A Day are good songs, but overall its meh. You'll enjoy it, but probably won't come back much.
Lilys make great album covers and good-not-great shoegaze. It's enjoyable if you temper your expectations but it's nothing world moving
Thomas Allen
their debut it's better imo but my opinion is unpopular. similar to that, i'd say what the user linked you is good but not obscure enough. try Luminous Orange, All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors, Underground Lovers, and Velour 100 albums
Mason Parker
mid air thief are pretty underrated desu
Ethan Lopez
What are /shugazi/'s thoughts on Medicine and Barnard Star?
Medicine is great noise pop and I’m pretty sure their song on The Crow got them famous m.youtube.com/watch?v=3nOsWM8LDoA The Crow has an absolutely kino soundtrack
The album cover is great, that's why I gave it a listen in the first place.
Overall though it's just part of the first wave of Loveless imitations, from the outside it does resemble Loveless a bit but it has no soul, no amazing melodies and nothing really interesting.
Not a terrible album, like a 5/10 very mediocre, there's a track or two that stand out that might make this a 6.
Daniel Wood
I've been listening to Modern Mirror and the new Hatchie album for a while now. Both great dreampop albums.
Anthony Wilson
slowcore is allowed right? Any great 2019 releases? pic rel shills in bc threads and it's pretty good but otherwise I haven't heard anything that isn't just indie rock or duster worship
Never heard of this, so thanks for the rec. I'm always looking for new current year stuff. I don't know much modern slowcore desu, but I did enjoy Drowse's newest album which I think touches on it. For a stranger choice that you may like or absolutely hate I'm going to rec Corbin (FKA Spooky Black) - Mourn. It's definitely more associated with alt RnB/soundcloud trap/emo, but I feel that it creates a similar atmosphere to slowcore while not being focused around rock, so give it a try maybe
