This. All the best guitar music I've heard in the past decade has been avant-garde post-punk of some description.

All I'm saying is that if you just listen to the same 9-10 old records again and again, your taste is gonna stagnate and you're gonna miss new releases that were actually worth checking out.

that's why I look for new releases in other genres
there's not much innovation or anything exciting coming out of rock so I don't bother with it
