Discovered Ray Barbee through playing Skate 2 and then proceeded to discover Shuggie Otis while watching one of Ray's skate reels as one of his songs was featured in the background.

Based

got introduced to Anco and MPP because one of their songs was in the movie Project X

>listens to Skrillex.

Weirdly enough got introduced to Popoh Vul after watching Aguirre. I thought the soundtrack was amazing so looked up the band and was like "oh how about that it's that band Yea Forums always talks about and that the random critic they post about apparently loves"
Not too strange but I thought it was kind of funny considering I had seen Hosianna Mantra so many times on this board but never paid it any mind

I started listening to weezer because i thought a girl i liked would like me more because of it. Ironic considering what their songs are about. Turns out she didnt even like weezer. I was 16.

Got introduced to Japanese music (Towa-Tei) through a youtube video of a car meet.
This also got my love for cars started

Tried to impress a girl by saying I liked indie music (way back in 9th grade or so), thinking indie music was independent electronic/EDM. She replied with "oh, like radiohead?"
I just nodded my head and agreed - I felt obliged to learn to like radiohead so I wasn't lying to her. That's how I actually got "into" music instead of listening to monstercat podcasts and the chainsmokers.

He brings up The Waitresses as one of the New Wave groups time forgot so I gave them a listen. Loved it

A girl I shortly shortly dated, who tortured me psychologically, was really into Death In June. Years have passed, and DIJ has becone one of my favourite bands alongside Current 93 (wich I bet she didn't even knew nor understood, she was too stupid and wore things like her liking for DI6 as a legit personality trait.)

I found them through this video
