>In an interview, Koenig revealed that the girl pictured on the front cover is "now living in Malibu".[6] Koenig has confirmed that the picture was taken in 1983 by photographer Tod Brody and was chosen as a juxtaposition to the debut album's cover which, while taken in 2006, looks as if it "inhabits the same world".[15] Koenig also referred to the girl as "Kirsten" in a post on Twitter.[16] Koenig likens the image to the Rorschach test as multiple meanings can be extrapolated from just a few signifiers, saying, "Some people get very mad when they see a white blonde girl in a Polo shirt."
Do you get mad when you see a white blonde girl in a polo shirt?
In an interview, Koenig revealed that the girl pictured on the front cover is "now living in Malibu"...
What a bunch of pretentious bullshit.
No but I know she did when she saw they used a photo of her without her permission
this. especially the polo shirt bullshit. what the fuck is he talking about? does he think polos are somehow a black thing? what an idiot. i guess every golfer is actually appropriating black culture. fucking brilliant. this band hasn't done anything good since they were actually on the radio in the late 2000s.
she sued the band and photographer so ya
I dn't think he's suggesting a polo is black culture. I think it's more that polos are for rich preppy white kids
So the message is actually "blond girls are preppy?" What a load of horse shit. This man truly is the pretentious hack that pretentious hacks aspire to be.
(((Koenig)))
No he’s suggesting that Polo is for rich white people and since wypipo bad, having a picture of a beautiful white woman wearing one is detrimental to clownworld acceleration
It's the opposite actually; a blonde white girl in a polo is triggering to some people because she is too white. Vampire Weekend's aesthetic is based around Northeast prep-school culture which is quintessentially WASPy. A blonde in a polo is one of the whitest thing imaginable, she just needs a pair of madras shorts and Sperry Top-siders to complete the look, and this is why it upsets people.
That's what i was getting at. Vampire Weekend are the musical equivalent of preppy white kids in polos, and it's not cool to be a well-off white person making musc anymore. Thats what he means by it makes people angry.
Not saying it's a good message, just trying to explain it
I hate whites so yes. I immediatly got angry upon first seeing it.
Could you imagine how great the world would be if everyone was blonde and white
The irony of course is that Ezra Koenig is Jewish.
Why would the sight of a well dressed white person offend anybody
Jews are trying to erase the memory of white people from everyone’s brains, so you could imagine how upsetting it might be when one of their own puts a picture of a white on their album cover, forever cementing white people in the annals of history
Because it's the current year and white people must atone for the sins of their fathers.
The atoning comes from having to live alongside those filthy niggers and treat them as "equal"
The reality is he stole some completely unrelated picture of a pretty girl for an album cover simply because it's a very eye-catching photo, and after the fact tried to attribute some bullshit deeper meaning to it after getting sued.
Don't you get it? It will never be enough. Nothing can repay the debt. They will never be satisfied.
If I peel that off, will you die?
If we ever get a chance at another holocaust, failure would mean the permanent extinction of whites
>does he think polos are somehow a black thing? what an idiot. i guess every golfer is actually appropriating black culture
rent free
Yep, you got me. Golfers literally live in my head rent free. I am constantly thinking, talking, and posting about Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods.
Denial
Yeah now do the needful and shoot up your local walmart
Your white race needs you
koenig didn’t steal shit
he bought it from a photographer whom they later found out forged the model’s signature to clear the photos.
It would be extremely fruitful.
Whites don't exist, we are just a social construct. Didn't you go to college?
