Bowie
my rym recents
why did you give daughters a 5, OP?
Let people enjoy things.
>being on Yea Forums
>"let people enjoy things"
>In Rainbows
probably the most pleb album to have ever existed
yikes whose account is that so I can harass him
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
The backyardigans
You must be 18 to post here
>Harassing for liking good albums
piss off, nobody will challenge themselves or develop a more sophisticated understanding of music if they are just left to "like" things
>Let people enjoy things.
>good albums
More than half of those are not good albums
nah by the time this avant-teen was 16 they'd have had a grounding in classic rock and bands like Radiohead and Arcade fire
My votes go to:
>Swans
>Animal Collective
>Death Grips
>Sufjan Stevens
>Kanye West
>Aphex Twin
>MF Doom
>Boards of Canada
>Miles Davis (oblig Kind of Blue)
>Sonic Youth (Daydream Nation and Sister)
so basically Yea Forumscore from 2013
Source: me when i first joined Yea Forums
Aside from the Floyd, Tyler and White Stripes they're all at least decent
Caretaker, Daughters, HANL, Swans and Weezer are all trash
Still haven't heard exactly 50 albums on here
>i joined mu in 2013 guys
>i’ve been here a while guys
>guys i swear im an old friend
can we update this chart yet
TBK is a poor man's Seer and Pinkerton is far better than Blue, but calling those albums trash is willful denial of their quality
You can make an album better than swans? I’d love to hear it sometime
Remove Tyler, the Nigger, Weezer and White Stripes and this list is fine. Caretaker doesn’t even fit with the rest of the list.
2013 is newfag land my man I'd never call myself an oldfag
The only update would be to delete it
>guys did I mention i was on here 6 years ago guys?
>guys?
>classic rock like acdc, journey, def leppard, etc
>90s grunge/punk like nirvana/pearl jam, green day, etc
>kanye, travis scott, billie eilish, etc for modern hiphop
>throw in more oldies like beatles before sgt pepper, dion, elvis, etc
basically all the shit everyone and their dog has heard over the years because they literally don't know anything else
The Weezer albums are classics
Are you scared of black people, grandpa?
Whats the matter with Pink Floyd
>Billie Eilish
>HipHop
Nope, my father used to casually lynch niggers, they’re just varmints you need to keep in line. I just don’t think their music is anything worth any serious consideration. Jazz, though... that’s some legitimate music there. Black people make jazz though, not niggers.
>t. boomer who wasted his young adult years on Yea Forums
Can confirm, I was big into Bowie and Pink Floyd when I was 16.
OK boomer
>HANL is trash
why? specifically deathconsciousness
This site is 18+
They're drawn out unsophisticated soft rock that people venerate as high art. prog for people that haven't listened to any other prog than rush.
based
and what is the point of that?
>N-NOOOOOOO STOP LIKING THING OR IM FUNNA MAEK FUN OF U ARGHJJ
lmao that pic is literally you
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT CRITICIZE THE NEW DAUGHTERS NOOOOOOOOO ITS SUPER ABRASIVE, HARSHEST MUSIC LET ME ENJOY THINGS AAAAAAA
this post sounds like something a 16 year old would write. Go back to RYM and rating Radiohead, Prog ain't for you buddy.
I love all the greats like Yes, Gentle Giant, Soft Machine, all the canterbury shit and the american stuff and it's because of that I can rule out Pink Floyd because it's all dull ponderous drivel. Piper is a great whimsical psych-rock album but it's all downhill from there. Enjoy your soft rock dronefest you pleb
all /mu core
Flaming Lips
Radiohead
Tool
Pink Floyd
not him but ur literally 16
also for the last time the daughters album fucking blows lol
i was sixteen years old when i started really getting into music
at that time, i went back to older bands i enjoyed from when i was really young like nirvana and queens of the stone age
and then i started exploring '60's shit like jimi hendrix, the doors, and bob dylan
and then i got really into elliott smith shortly before turning 17
saying really young for qotsa kinda outed me as the 19 year old zoomer shit
bump
>tfw I've listened to probably less than 1% of the albums on there
Feels good to be a non-music snob chad.
tastelet cope
deathconsciousness and soundtracks for the blind are seminal albums within their respective genres — you don’t know anything.
Your favourite album
musicsnob seethe, Taste is purely subjective and you know it.
Not sure if anyone else was like this, but when i was 16 i was going through my 'born in the wrong generation' phase,
>rush
>led zeppelin
>the doors
>blue oyster cult
>van halen
So probably albums like these. Although i was really into ghost and slayer at the time, but they were the stand outs. Im almost 19 now, and i listen to none of these bands now.
rym was a mistake
Yea Forums was a mistake
agreed but bragging about not listening to music makes you a faggot
You sound like a pretentious faggot.
but some of those bands are good
you can listen to music across multiple decades, tard
i was less of a faggot at 16 than you were at all these ages
10 year old me knew linkin park was garbage
If they're 16 something from 50 years ago probably won't be a good choice. Unlike you weirdos, people like to hear new sounds.
Yeah ill admit they are pretty good. Like much of what the doors made, led zeppelin I, and 2112 are absolutley great pieces of music, its just that I got tired of listening to them.
He basically got me into non-mainstream music 8 years ago
Wow what an enlightened redditor we have here
(Not op btw)
that's understandable then
i did a similar thing with nirvana and then got back into them a few years later
stay mad, white boy
Yeah its every 2-3 years with me that my musical tastes change. I started with edm/dubstep at 12, then got into classic rock at like 14/15, now im in my pretentious indie rock/alternative rock/emo phase with shit like death grips, king gizzard, neutral milk hotel, MCR, etc.
>admits to being 16 on Yea Forums
That's a whoopsie.
Where did i say that? I said i was almost 19 here, you mong
18 and 16 are the same thing. Literal child either way.
So when exactly do i stop being a child then?
>emo phase
i'm so sorry.
Dont be. I brought it on myself. Long story short, i got extremely depressed/suicidal at late 16 early 17 and started listening to mcr then. Im no longer like that, but they stuck around.
inclusive zoomer sub humans disagree with this but it’s true. art snobbery is important
>Long story short, i got extremely depressed/suicidal at late 16 early 17 and started listening to mcr then.
You are a walking stereotype.
there's good depression music you don't have to listen to bad emo shit
the vast majority of what i listen to is negative and sad sounding, but it isn't over-the-top edgy emo shit
i recommend elliott smith since you like depressing stuff and indie music
start with his first album, 'Roman Candle', and just keep going forward in his discography
I've listened to 52% of this chart
24
Yeah i know, i took a real nose dive at that time. Fuckin highschool man, made me do some stupid ass shit.
Yeah mcr is the edgiest thing that i listen to and the only pop punk/emo band i really like. As of late tho, i have been getting into joy division, in utero, and smashing pumpkins, and thanks user, ill give that album a listen.
Regardless tho, i still stand by that MCR has made some of the best music ive ever heard. i dont know why i like them so much, i just do.
Ok, boomer
i'm the user that recommended elliott smith
i really love a lot of nirvana; in utero and incesticide are probably their two best albums
i've listened to just about everything kurt cobain ever recorded
>tfw you've actually listened to all of Yea Forumscore and sub-Yea Forumscore by coincidence
oh no I'm a faggot now
it isn't coincidence
Yea Forumscore is literally the same shit any old hipster likes
for decades now, hipsters have been praising the velvet underground, king crimson, etc.
>American reading comprehension
Yeah i mostly stayed away from them during my high school years for the same reason i stayed away from MCR. As it was seen as an edgy band that pretentious emo girls/art hoes listened to. gotta say tho, im really liking in utero alot.
Me too pal
nirvana isn't emo and it's not that edgy
it's unfortunate that a lot of those emotards like it though
i hate being at all associated with them
rap
I have never listened to any Swans, Godspeed You Black Emporer or Death Grips
+1 for Elliott Smith
i am a zoomer and most other zoomers i know either really like modern shit like billie eilish, soundcloud rappers, etc. or they like a lot of classic rock boomer bands
there's not much in-between
>listened to everything except the hipster-hop section
Some people are just okay with finding enjoyment out of what you may perceive as being a surface level project or the bare minimum of a genre.
why does he have the buck teeth
that isn't nerdy it's CHAD
>starting with Flower Boy
Meh. You really should go through Tyler's shit from the start. I remember being 14 seeing that Yonkers video. Perfect time to see it. I guess those times are gone now.
The infamous under hipster hop? you need to be hanged faggot
Entry-level doesn't equal bad.
I was listening to Dumitrescu at 16
In 2006 mind. Now I mostly listen to Van Halen
the absolute state of this fucking board
