It was different enough to pique people's interest but familiar enough to not spook normies.
Retards
Yea Forums shits on sonny for being a talentless hack but he did have a talent for knowing how to remix interesting samples and introduced extreme bass sounds to the mainstream.
He's still an overrated hack, dont get me wrong but he got big right around the time when everyone was tired of mainstream rap and pop and rock was on its deathbed (as a mainstream genre). Skrillex and Dubstep got so big you had every music industry head trying to force shitty bass drops or collabs with almost every artist, it was insufferable.
sonny's a cool guy and his production is still great
>Skrillex and Dubstep got so big you had every music industry head trying to force shitty bass drops or collabs with almost every artist, it was insufferable.
agree with this though
SMaNS is overrated shit but Cinema is actually good
Familiar how?
>tfw you liked the doors x skrillex collab
what a strange time
And then came the Party Rockers and put Dubstep in its grave.

[shake that]
its not even that difficult to produce. ive farted on soundcloud and come up with dubstep without trying.
Cringe tier bait
for cringe tier genre
he is really talented and humble.
Fuck you I like it
because it's one of the most interesting pieces of music ever recorded and LITERALLY cannot be replicated
recess is 10/10 album
>Scary Monsters
>no Super Creeps
his collab song with the doors is peak
That song is dogshit mate. Bangarang, reptile - his only good songs
now you remember that he produced/remixed The Doors too
1. Dubstep was new enough that anyone could capitalize on it by turning it into pop music.
2. It's just dumb dance music, the same way I'm Blue and Cotton Eyed Joe were in previous decades. Yeah, it's really fucking annoying, but so were those songs. Kids like manic, annoying songs, look at Crazy Frog
3. Scene kids probably gave him an early audience because of his time as a member of the scenecore band From First to Last
its good
Bangarang was good, but it came later in his career. People had already kinda forgotten about Skrillex, and Bangarang breathed some new life into his music.
Americans made UK dubstep more danceable and appealing in everyway. Only problem with this track is that the vocals, sample, and pianos are midly cringey
Does anyone have the screencap of Skrillex posting an aphex twin song on facebook
Remixing a song can hardly be called a collab, can it now?
this kills the fly
SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING
based
posting this fucking banger
youtube.com
Most of his old shit is good
>not kill everybody
yeah I enjoy that track too, just wanted to post one that not too many people know of
it's interesting that most EDM sounds have been replicated by other artists sooner or later but when it came to his music it was always some horrible attempts to copy him. I can't find a single producer who had his sound design and consistent song writing
kill everybody is incredible I wont even lie
>I can't find a single producer who had his sound design and consistent song writing
Eric Prydz
Kill Everybody is so fucking good
because 14 year olds existed in 2010
>not Cat Rats
it was pretty based
I discovered Burial through his "Leaving EP" so i'll give him that
This song has a nice melody but feels too long
Fucking Die and the €€ Cooper Remix are the best (patrician opinion)
2009-2013 were peak party years, it was party musics last dying breath before mumblecore rap shit took over
Nothing wrong with Mo Bamba or Versace, boomer.
it's pre good
i like the melody
Sounds like shit, his best collab was with AMONEYSYMBOLAP ROCKY, Wild for the Night had the normies creaming their panties.
This doesn't do it for anyone except the Wakanda crew because "Kendrick is so WOKE brah we iz kings".
Skrillex Leaving EP is his best work, combining industrial and IDM and just straight delivering raw fire.
thoughts on kyoto?
Reminder the early EPs are peak Skrillex
No, but I've seen it. I don't want to remember.
he looks like a kid with fisher price toys
