i mean it's not though is it

The Drum kit.

drum machine

For me it's the Arturia Microbrute

I don't know wether I should get this one or the Minilogue.

Damn, I meant Monologue.

Modular synth

It’s the computer though

Imagine an analog synth having built in tetris just to keep you distracted from what truly matters.

This, how could you possibly say it's a sampler when you could put denise or any other software on a laptop and have a sampler that's 100 times more powerful

that is actually my fav model. its a super pain to get internal storage but it was worth it I don't regret learning how to make it work on a single floppy.

>a computer-based sampler isnt a sampler
A hardware sampler is essentially a computer, genius. Ever see the guts of an old Emu Akai rackmount unit?

>Emu Akai
emu or akai*
Anyway, they have hard drives, ram, scsi ports, floppy and zip drives, and OSes

Based
Literally my current setup is a MPC 1k + Microbrute

It way better built and straightforward, the Monologe can have tuning issues acording to other anons and the filter on the Microbrute BTFO the monologues, by a longshot. Thats why I traded my *logue for the *brute, miss having 2 oscilators and patch memory but rather just dial in the sounds I want and get it over with, also having a filter that screams like a mf and can self-oscilates beautifully puts it way ahead of the shitty one in the *loges (I think they changed it in the XD, but no idea)

That doesn't change the fact a regular computer is more powerful

M4A1

No shit, but using a PC as a sampler doesnt change the fact that you're using a sampler. Sure it can also act as a emulator for synths and a sequencer and arranger, but so can some hardware samplers. It's just that personal PCs are now powerful enough to cope with the workload.

In terms of raw possibility, the computer is just a different game.

Which is in turn the golden ticket to vast superiority

so it's no surprise the computer is mostly of use to utilitarian pragmatists and those just in the game for money.. not the majority of musicians

A MPC2000 or even the 1000/2500 BTFO any computer+external DAC in terms of sound.
But you wouldn't know that if you never played a gig with an MPC or used one in a proper studio. Just sample any kick drum from a computer to one of them using the input and it will sound a lot better, no idea what kind of wizardry they use but it's crazy

hardware/software debate. both your output combined has probably amounted to less than 10minutes of music split into a dozen soundcloud shitposts

False, it's the transistor organ.

Tell DJ khaled that you dumbass I featured on one of his productions

imagine not porting doom to your analog synth

Your setup for what?

Making music, rehearsing and playing live. Some of us have bands

>stealing other peoples’ work
>instrument

>2019
>‘having’ a ‘band’

t. filthy rock fan

So your setup for recording music and playing live is only a sample pad and a monophonic synth in which you can't even save patches?
I'm glad you detected my pity, because that's just grim.

i press da button and it make da sound * clap clap*

The monotron delay, of course.

Well the Monologue's sequencer sems like a great addition in it's favor.

>MPC 1k
>sample pad
Dude, you can use it as a rompler, drum machine, sequencer and phrase looper.
I would've chosen a Tetra x4 because it's multitimbric and saves patches but any analog synth is a great companion for a literal daw in a box.
Having said that, glad I upgraded to an MPC Live from the 1k, it's the shit

meme synth for nerds

Ive got a midi keyboard, what do I have to buy to be able to play some intstuments and midi samples without a pc? under 300 if possible
