Not very good.
I can't see fucking anything. Overrated album cover.
Album's fine, I guess. Not as good as Die Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.
2lofi4me
You can hardly hear them play over the lofi static. Otherwise it's alright.
it's crap
just a bunch of loud noise. i doubt it would be popular if it weren't for the album cover
black metal would probably be a dead genre today if it hadn't been for dead's suicide and varg vikernes killing euronymous. those two incidents are the reason anyone paid attention to black people
black metal*
woops freudian slip
It's not very good. And this is coming from someone who loves black metal.
The only reason it is well known is the edgy cover.
I disagree, but I certainly think the notoriety from those incidents helped black metal become as popular as it is.
I do wonder, if it hadn't been for all the violence and crime, would black metal be so associated with Norway? Because it seems like there was a ton of black metal also happening in Sweden and Finland at that time, plus there was a bunch of stuff happening in the North America. People seem to forget that two of the really critical first wave bands, Blasphemy and Von, were North American.
>Blasphemy and Von
Deathcrush alone is better than both of those combined honestly. And Sarcofago is the best first wave band even though the term wasn't getting thrown around then.
Shut up kpop fag
Also adding that beyond subjective quality and preference, if we want to talk about what's generally thought of as THE black metal sound, everybody was turning to Norway.
how could i possibly be a fag if i follow girl groups and not long haired male bands?
Theyโre both for teenage girls and you should both be ashamed for being faggots. End of discussion.
I actually do agree that Deathcrush is better than anything by Von or Blasphemy (though I really like Von). But the major first wave bands were Hellhammer from Switzerland, Bathory from Norway, Mercyful Fate from Denmark, Venom from the UK, the North American bands I just mentioned, and then random thrash bands like Slayer (US), Sodom and Kreator (Germany), and of course Sepultura (Brazil).
There was a lot going on in Norway in the second wave, but Sweden had major bands like Dissection and Dark Funeral, and Finland had a surprising number of bands like Barathrum, Beherit, and Archgoat.
Norway did have a big scene. I just wonder if those crimes contributed to why the focus was so intensely on Norway, at the exclusion of other places, though.
>Bathory from Norway
*from Sweden
>I just wonder if those crimes contributed to why the focus was so intensely on Norway
I guess so, I mean Varg had a bigger spot on this cover than Iron Maiden and Megadeath, and he was arguably just a well off edgy kid at this point.
>how could i possibly be a fag if i follow girl groups and not long haired male bands?
>how could i possibly be a fag if I can't articulate beyond meme arrows and soijack
soii guzzlers like you aren't deserving of a rebuttal
>I follow girl groups, they're so kawaii guys uwu
Mayhem sucks, ill give tou that. But theyre way better than some faggy weeb pop.
Yes Varg was an edgy teenager at this point. Just like the target audience of fhe magazine.
